Vela Rooms

We were moved to a different hotel to our first night as we were told there was a problem with the bathroom. This hotel was fine but seemingly of a slightly lower standard than Vela Rooms. Annoyingly we had to then arrange to check in to Vela Rooms again and were required to fetch our luggage from the other hotel. On arrival we found that our room had been being used for storing other customers luggage and we had to wait whilst the suitcases were removed. As a result of this we wondered whether our room had in fact been double booked for the first night. We were told that breakfast was available in the communal area from 7.30 to 10am. We needed to check out for our return flight at 7.45 but had hoped that we could have some breakfast beforehand; unfortunately breakfast did not start on time at 7.30 and only arrived as we were leaving for the airport. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. A mirror in the bedroom would have been a nice addition.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Vela Rooms.No downsides, but things to watch are- try for a room at the back, as I think the front ones would be noisy, also, bear in mind there are limited reception hours, I think 2-6. Coffee is available all day, also while we were there, fruit and pastries. The position is excellent, close to station, good restaurants all around, easy walk up to the upper town- the lifts all seemed to be broken!

It was a few minutes walk away from the train station, great central location with bars and restaurants nearby. The room itself was exactly like the pictures, clean and cozy. I would stay here again.

Awesome location, right next to the port, good restaurants. Little too noisy on weekends as my room was facing the port and acoustic isolation is not the best.
