The Manor House At Celtic Manor

I will not be staying here again, we was treated like we didn’t deserve to be there, our rooms where very cool and at the other end of the hotel, We was given no information about anything What so ever and every time we went to try and find out, we was send around the whole hotel. When we checked in it took about 30mins once the receptionist has finished messing the bookings up. Again no information was given. Anyway I have now spent far to much of my own time with on this and will not be staying here again, I may even consider using another provider other than hotels.com

Reception staff not very helpful or welcoming. Parking a long distance from Manor House - had to drag luggage and was not told by parking staff that I could drop luggage off when I buzzed for help. Room absolutely freezing and rather tired looking. Swimming pool and facilities in ladies changing room far too small for size of resort and number of guests. Was supposed to stay 2 nights, only stayed one night - checked out early. Receptionist didn’t even bother asking why I was checking out early or if I’d had a good experience. Very disappointing.

Adjoining door to next room allowed too much neighbour night time noise through 🙈 Bath had a chip. Otherwise staff really nice, pool great, restaurant visited was super posh. Would go again - really liked it.

I was attending a party at the hotel on 14th December. I booked a deluxe room with King bed for myself and my wife at a cost of £189, a bit pricey I thought but as it was our first trip to this hotel we'd push the boat out.. Checking in was no problem but we then had to drive to the car park and walk back to the hotel. Incidentally as my wife had driven down to join me in Wales we had two cars, so that was another £15. Apart from the parking, everything about the hotel said it was quality, most especially the staff, but that was until we got to the room. To describe it as deluxe would've been a stretch for Boris Johnson, it was average at best. I have stayed in a lot better for a lot less, frankly I would've been slightly disappointed at £100. The bed was massive but that was about the only thing to distinguish it from most of the hotels I've used for business. There was a mark on the bedsheet and one whole side of the wardrobe couldn't be used because the sliding door wouldn't open. The party, I have to say, was excellent and the food was really good and the service efficient. The breakfast in the morning was, again, really good, with good food and good service. However, it all was entirely tainted by the room. We had been looking forward to the trip and we were both gutted. I have never before written a negative review and certainly didn't expect to this time but then I guess never know what's around the corner. It was like hiring a Jaguar and getting a Focus.

When we checked in the receptionist had a terrible attitude no customer service manners what so ever. Didnt even give us proper directions on how to get to our room... once inside the room was dirty the bed sheets were stained the wall was stained the skirting boards had snot on them.. the window chair had cigarette burns in them. We asked to speak to a manager but he/she never turned up to speak to us. They wanted a £50 deposit on top of what we paid or we couldn't have the room which still hasnt gone back i to my bank account and an extra £15 to park your car in there car park. The next morning we went down for breakfast and it was awful.

Great check in experience: staff friendly and willing to please !

Birthday stay for my wife, however disappointing, sadly. Bathroom was updated some time ago (but needs repairing already) and room needs updating, specially the carpet. Not impressed to discovered that there was no toilet paper in the bathroom (nor a holder), I phoned reception to ask for some and after waiting more than 10 minutes had to phone again and after more than 20 minutes from the first call it was delivered to the room. There was a long queue for breakfast; I presumed all the tables were occupied but when we sat down found out why: several tables had not been cleared from previous guests hence nobody could use them.

A bit run down, leaks in the roof buckets everywhere at least 3. Breakfast good but cleaning equipment left out. Roof of Manor House dining area needs a clean. Room small but confortable. Overpriced.
