Topa Vista Hotel

Topa Vista Hotel was a quiet place to stay as we traveled. We found the room clean and the bed comfortable; the room had a microwave and refrigerator for our convenience. We were charged a $25 fee for housekeeping on top of the room charge. The fee was mandatory when making the reservation and we didn't find out the purpose of the extra charge until we had checked in.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Topa Vista. The coupe that runs the place are just wonderful and very friendly. Will definitely stay there again.

Our unit was already rented when we arrived. The property manager did not receive our Expedia reservation. Luckily they had a spare unity for us. I'm seriously considering not using Expedia in the future.

The motel is refurbished, done very nicely and clean. Not sure if they’re just in transition, but there isn’t an official ‘office’ it’s a room they live in and work out of-just a little surprising. Very nice though. The bed was hard and very uncomfortable and the ac wall unit was very loud-thankfully we could just turn it off because the weather permitted. It was just pretty pricy for what it offered.

My husband and I stayed here for one night. Checking in was not a problem, as we contacted them beforehand. The room was super cute, decorated well and clean. It’s a short drive from the Main Street of ojai, and about 15 min from the winery we wanted to go to, also the deer lodge is walking distance. (Half mile). My one and ONLY complaint was the bed. Kind of felt like it was going to fall apart. But I still slept well! I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel manager was so helpful and polite! the rooms are very clean and had a lot of space. the bathrooms had marble flooring and where very cosy. We are definitely going to go back and stay at the Topa Vista again.

The bed was awesome, furniture was nice. They're doing a good job of cleaning up this once run-down hotel. That said, our room was moved to what the hostess called a "sound proof" room located on the corner of a "not busy" road. It wasn't sound proof and it was busy, which lead to an uncomfortable night before a long day. Don't expect the hotel to be smoke-free - the hostess was smoking in the doorway of her hotel room wafting down to our room. That said, the hostess was very courteous and they're working hard on cleaning this place up.

The vibe here is less hotel and more in law guest apartment. The property lies at an intersection just far out of town enough to feel rural but literally a few stoplights away from the main road through town with shopping dining etc. The seemingly recent remodel is tastefully if sparingly done combining some modern and rustic vibes. No real view to speak of and prices are Ojai-high for what you get but when you price the alternatives... The hotel commujicates via messare so check yours before arrival for seamless access to the room via coded lockbox entry. Our only real issues were with the bathroom layout (tight for 2 getting ready) and lack ofnsptions to hang our clothes as well as a shower faucet that needed to be set just so for showering temperature water.

I was not able to check into this hotel as there is No front desk. When I called the phone number provided there was no answer. I left a voice message and to date have still not received a call back. As it was a very busy weekend in Ojai all other hotels were fully booked so I ended up without accommodations. I called Expedia to request a refund, after about 45 minute, I was finally able to convince a manager to give me a full refund. However No One at Expedia offered to help me find alternative accommodations for the evening. This is the SECOND time this has happened with an Expedia booking.
