Country Inn Motel

Our four night stay was most enjoyable. We preselected breakfast items which were delivered on a tray at the preselected time. The kitchen was useful during the pandemic. We especially enjoyed the pool on hot September days. Great bed and large bathroom. Separate entrance.

Clean, comfortable, beautiful.

The Country Inn Motel is a short drive from the Stanford campus, in an area with lots of similar properties. Grocery stores and restaurants are within walking distance, but best to drive to campus. The rooms are quite large and the beds are comfortable. The furniture and fixtures (except the refrigerator) have been modernized since the place was built. I have stayed in a couple motels in the area of a similar vintage and they are quite similar. Unfortunately they all suffer from being built before A/C was centralized—all are ineffective. Privacy is also an issue as rooms face exterior walkways. This motel had louvred window coverings and screens to allow fresh air and a cool breeze, compensating somewhat for the poor AC and lack of privacy. I have only two complaints. The first is the housekeeping. You need to request, and even then a request may be missed. The front office staff managed concerns extremely well. Second is the free breakfast, which was not worth the trouble to request. Overall, I came away with the sense that the motel is well-managed and they are doing everything they can to make people feel comfortable and safe, but they have limited resources. This is a budget-conscious property aimed at providing the basics for visitors to Stanford. I would recommend it for family visits.

This was my second stay and both times have been great. This time was even better, because my stay was off season so my rate was lower. They offer fabulous amenities, including chapstick and earplugs and lotion on tap as well as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower. The water was super hot, the fridge was a good size, there was complimentary drinking water. We'll definitely stay again.

What a charming hotel, I especially love the mature trees and garden that I could see right outside my window. The guy at the desk when I checked in was absolutely wonderful. I was in Stanford for medical reasons and I had a couple of questions. He was so helpful and so compassionate. When I come back up here again I’m going to stay there.

Very nice grounds. Well maintained. A short walk to restaurants, shopping, drug and grocery stores.

The property was very nice and unique. There were citrus trees along the parking lot and the pool/pool area was very pretty and inviting.

Excellent value stay. Easy check-in, nice area. I would stay here again.

nice pool area, if the weather wasnt as cold, would have definitely enjoyed it. room was more spacious than expected for the price. very friendly staff, provided a handwritten welcome note.

Great location, comfortable beds, clean room, great amenities, and a nice pool. I return to this motel every time I visit Palo Alto.
