Well placed for walking to cultural venues.
It is only a short walk from Euston and Kings Cross/St.Pancras to the hotel. Many galleries are within walking distance, including Tate Modern, Tate Britain, the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery, the Royal Academy and many others. If shopping is your ‘thing’, there are places available for this on Oxford Street.

Save your money, Book another Hotel
The hotel is tired and old. The room needs some serious updating. The bed mattress had no structure to it. It felt like an old 30 year old mattress that was taken off the skip! The shower leaked. The shower head was like a garden hose attached to the wall. There was no tea/coffee making in the room and they clearly advertise this in their advert. When we left to check out there was no one at the front desk, so we just left. Worst hotel. Do not book

Tried, Tested and TIRED!
On entering the St. Giles, we noticed a distinct and lingering stench which we thought could either be the remnants of a deep clean gone damp or drainage. We aren't convinced the deep clean option was the frontrunner. After an initial mix-up with the booking (not the hotel's doing) - and a brittle exchange with the the gent on reception (lobby area asthetic is great) who presents himself as one who - either really does not enjoy his job in hospitality or have full cognisance of his sector - we got the keys to our room. Communal areas outside of the lobby are tired and could do with some TLC... the carpets throughout need replacing - they are dirty and smell. Room was fine, bed was fine, shower was good. No stench in the confines of the room. Breakfast was a huge disappointment. The decor is tired, outdated plastic grapes and vines cling on to the walls - terrified of being relegated to a 'throw-out' box (they should be). The staff where polite enough at breakfast but the substance and satisfaction level was zero in regards to the food itself. We appreciate the need to pre-cook in bulk and hot plate until needed but come on Chef/Cook/Microwave Supervisor (delete as appropriate)...the mushrooms where mummified, the sausage was tasteless, the 'fried' egg was so rubbery it was straight out of a joke shop. Noone was laughing here though. We have experienced the St Giles and will not race to return!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Fab swimming pool downstairs. Clean sheets every day. Great location but surprisingly quiet. Room a little basic but are being upgraded. Will go back.
