Mama Shelter Los Angeles

Very cool and chic hotel was more than I expected.The terrace restaurant is AMAZING! Only bad thing was the room has no light! their is two tinny lamps on the head board and another big DECORATION lamp but was not enough.

Do not bother staying at this hotel unless it's for some reason really valuable to you to be "put at the top of the wait list" for the rooftop restaurant/bar. It doesn't function like a hotel - everyone there is just a hostess for the long line of people waiting outside (not socially distanced) to get to the stupid rooftop. Not fun trying to get luggage through that crowd just to check in and have the hotel staff keep you waiting because they are explaining to someone how long their wait will be for a table. No staff at front desk. Called down to get a drinking glass - because none are in the room - and no one answered. You should NEVER EVER not have someone answer at the front desk of a hotel. I've stayed at Mama Shelters in other parts of the world - that also had attached restaurants - and they were not like this at all. Get it together - you're a hotel.

Pleased to say the least. Had such a great time. Staff was friendly room was clean as can be. Kinda wish the tech was a little more up to par but the free porn thing would have been great had it been working. Highly recommended tho!!

This hotel was exactly what we needed! It’s in an accessible part of Hollywood with plenty to do within walking distance. The room is small but everything we needed for our night’s stay. The vibe is great, drinks generous, and the food is comfort elevated. If I could pick one negative, the walls were thin and I, the lightest sleeper, could here people talking and machines whirring, but nothing my air pods couldn’t help. There’s also ear plugs for sleeping provided. My very quick sleeping husband had zero issues. I will absolutely book here the next we need to stay in Hollywood/LA!

The Mama Shelter was an amazing hotel which was centrally located with many cool amenities. We really enjoyed that the bathroom was one large shower and the Star Wars masks as our night lights. The roof top patio was the most impressive part of this hotel with great views (the Hollywood sign) and good drinks -- however, those beverages were very pricey. Our view from our room was an alley -- but we really didn't care. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was so good we dined there again the second night. We were one block from the Walk of Fame and enjoyed exploring downtown. The only negative about this property was the elevator was very creaky! We would definitely go back!

Rooftop bar and restaurant was excellent. Service was great. Room was clean.

Could have used coffee/tea in the room. And a communal water station at hotel reception would have been a nice touch. As a woman trying to do my hair and makeup in the room I would have loved have been able to request a full length mirror. Otherwise I had to stand over the toilet to get close to a mirror - very inconvenient. Was disappointed that it is advertised on the website that self parking is $22 taxes. We were charged $27 $8.76 in tax. And the self parking is a 6 minute walk from the hotel. Again, very inconvenient. Other then those things, the staff were very friendly and we had a positive experience.
