Staff and location are brilliant and just cannot be faulted , the Dinner and Breakfast where lovely BUT unfortunately the room needs a few improvements for a disabled room. Firstly the lock to get in the room needs some attention and door rattles when locked. The bed was far to soft to get onto and move on, especially when your movements are limited and also you feet ended up higher then your head. The shower was lovely BUT no anti slip on the floor making it was very dangerous, infact lethal under foot. The seat had no max weight on it, So didn't use to fear of it collapsing and the last final problem the shaving mirror light didn't work. There was no hot water but that was soon sorted.

If your looking for just a lovely relaxing hotel with amazing friendly staff .. great food then don’t bother with a huge hotel chain this is your hotel .

Lovely historic hotel in attractive grounds. Period interior. Cosy room. All the staff were friendly and attentive. The club/spa could do with modernising - the entrance is cramped and scruffy. Pool impressive size but dark and along with the changing rooms, needs investment.

Lovely Hotel

Very welcoming easy check in on a very rainy evening. Old fashioned decor but in a nice way as in a warm cosy feeling about communal areas and rooms. Very clean nice setting and a relaxing night to celebrate our wedding anniversary but just 50 minutes from home.

Old fashion British atmosphere, the ground are lovely, so os the building and the park. The service is very good. It’s quiet and relaxing It’s nice to have access to a pool, sauna, gym as well The dinner and breakfast were both very good The only thing i didn’t like was the bed It was fluffly and soft, slighty curved in the middle. And i have back problems and prefer firmer mattresses, more support. The bathroom was quite outdated and small

Jamie the receptionist and overall effective staff member in all areas was very welcoming and helpful as were all however he stood out! Room was lovely with exceptional bedding

Needed a place to stay on our UK (back to family) vacation - needed some time to ourselves - this was perfect

Stayed here one night for a business trip. There isn't much around the immediate area, so the likelhood is (as it was for us) that you are tied to the bar/restaurant offerings at the hotel. Not that it should put you off though, as we found both the lunch in the adjacent sports club and dinner in the more formal surroundings of the hotel main building to be good quality with nice and attentive staff. On arrival, i was informed that due to my expedia status, i was being upgraded to what is known as the honeymoon suite. The room was large and comfortable although somewhat higgeldy piggeldy with a mix of different old furniture dotted around the place. The en-suite looked sizeable, so off i went to dinner. It was only the next morning when i came to shower that i realised the room i had been 'upgraded' to did not in fact have a shower. It has one of those tap extension hoses attached and no shower curtain around the bath and no place to 'hook' the shower head to. Now, a nice big bath may well be the choice for honeymooners but for a businessman wanting to get a shower, breakfast and on the road again, it is a complete annoyance. That i wasn't told about this when i was 'upgraded' from the room i had booked (which promised a shower) is my complaint. Other than that, breakfast when i finally emerged from my act of contorsion cleaning myself, was a very nice, cooked to order affair.
