Redstone Guest House

I have nothing but high praise for Ursula and the team at Redstone Guest House. From the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble. Ursula was warm, friendly and really welcoming. We had room 8 on the top floor and it was lovely! It was large and furnished with good quality, solid furniture. The bed was large and had luxurious bedding on it. The bathroom was massive with a good sized bath and there was never an issue with the water pressure or temperature. Breakfast was phenomenal and there was made great variety to choose from. The food was cooked to order and was delicious and fresh. Ursula took time to chat and this created a lovely relaxed atmosphere. There was always some freshly cooked cake or brownies left out in the hallway for guests and they were delicious too. If you want somewhere to stay which is fantastic value for money and is also top quality then Redstone is the place for you. It’s located just off the prom and not far from any of the attractions. It’s central enough to be near everything but just tucked away enough for a nice quiet nights sleep. We will DEFINITELY be back!

The room was extremely comfortable, but the bathroom was dimly lit, even though there was a well lit mirror. However, to anybody less that 5'6" tall the over the sink shelf cut across the bottom of the mirror, meaning it is impossible to see yourself without standing on tip toe or crouching down. In spite of having to order breakfast the night before, they still got the order wrong. The place is obviously well looked after and recently refurbished, off street parking is just down the road. However, if you have a problem with steps at all then this is not for you. There is no lift and as far as we were aware, no walk in showers. It would not be suitable for someone with mobility problems. Also, the large family group coupled with the hard wood floors in the dining room made breakfast deafening.

Lovely guest house! Very clean room and beautiful bathroom. We were given a warm welcome and made to feel very comfortable. Lovely breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

A wonderful place to stay. Our room was lovely. The service excellent. We felt nothing would be too much trouble so long as we had a good time. The cakes provided - FOR FREE - divine, such a delight at the end of the day to find such a delicious treat waiting. If I need to be picky I can only criticise the pre-order breakfast form as it was lost on our first day and I got fried instead of poached eggs as I had requested. I did not feel it worth making a fuss over when my breakfast arrived, it was very good, even the fried eggs! The wifi needs improving, worked ok near the window but not elsewhere. Overall the Redstone was a joy to stay in.
