Firetrap and a Disgrace to Staybridge Suites name

This hotel is in very bad need of maintenance. We did not see a House Cleaning person the 3 days we were there. The Front Desk takes their phone off the hook so you can not call the Front Desk from your room. On our second night there we were awaken at 3:00 o'clock in the morning buy smoke alarms and the room half filled with smoke. Upon getting up I notice the smoke coming out of the heater, so I shut the heating down and open the windows. Of coarse I could not call Front Desk as stated earlier. So upon going down to Front Desk I had to awaken the person on duty,told them what had happened, and they pretty much acted like it happens on a regular basis. Was given another room, but ended not being able to sleep the rest on the night in case of fire. Would of change hotel the following day except for I was there for a early morning Medical procedure at UNC. So after the procedure , I took a afternoon nap while my wife was on fire watch and the then see slept at night while I stayed up all night on fire watch. Upon checking out I said something about the fire to the manager and was told they were going to have someone look a the heater This should of been done the very next morning. Overall it would not surprise me if the place burnt down by now. So find yourself a better hotel than this !!!!

We were very disappointed in the condition and cleanliness of this hotel. We have always been pleased when we have stayed at other Staybridge Suites but definitely not this one. The only positive was the lady at the check in desk, she was helpful and friendly. Every floor reeked of smoke, which I thought it was a nonsmoking hotel. Our first room assigned had mold and weather damage marks all across the ceiling and the smell of musty mold was gagging. It had looked like the ceiling had been attempted to be painted but all damage could easily be seen. The paint was splattered everywhere on the furniture and floor. When I requested another room, the front desk allowed us to view 2 other rooms on our own and choose which one would be better. The second room was not as bad but had a very strong odor of smoke and was musty. Room 3 was better but still had a strange smell. Since we had booked 2 nights and our money was nonrefundable, we were stuck. Also, the clientele going in and out of the hotel was somewhat shady as well as a few people hanging out in the halls on different floors. My teen daughter was very uncomfortable with her safety throughout our 2 night stay.

Found cockaroach in kitchen sink. Carpets and microwave was dirty. The lady at checkin first day was impolite. Not fit to be in the hispitality business. The lady at tbe eveneing shift was better at dealing with questions. The next day the gentleman was way better which is why i did not give the lowest rating. The lady who served the breakfast did nit want to be there working.

The front desk employee that assisted my husband and I was incredibly helpful, friendly, kind and really made us feel welcomed and cared about. I was disappointed to see so many guests not taking HER life and her health into consideration by not socially distancing from her and not wearing a mask. She is to be commended and financially rewarded with hazard pay by your company for putting herself in harm's way to accommodate these selfish folks while being pleasant and welcoming to them as well. Take care of your employees! They are risking their lives to pay the bills!!!!

This was my second stay at this property. This was during the COVID-19 pandemic, so many of the routine services and amenities were not available. That said, what they offer under normal circumstances is, in my opinion, outstanding! The have a decent outdoor pool, the fitness center has a good assortment of equipment, and they offer a hot breakfast buffet. What makes this noteworthy is that they also offer rooms with a kitchenette because this is a longer-term stay type of property. These amenities are usually not offered in these. That is what sets this place apart. Their rates are very reasonable as well.
