Beautiful property and very attentive staff!!! Luxurious spa, excellent dining, and superb service. All of the employees were happy, thoughtful, and eager to exceed expectations. This property is a gem if you're looking to be pampered with a relaxing atmosphere!

Casa Velas is a dream resort! 💜 I’ve travelled a lot & have been to a lot of lovely resorts around the world but this property is truly paradise!! Excellent service, wonderful food, beautiful property, clean & well located close to airport. This was my second stay there & I can’t wait to go back again!😊

The staff was excellent, attentive, and so kind. They had smiles on their faces daily, and they made a consistent effort to ensure it was a relaxing vacation. Of note, they have a dress code for the restaurant at dinner: long pants and closed toe shoes required for men. I wish this were better advertised, but they did everything they could to accommodate our not knowing this rule. The food was fantastic. The beach club was wonderful. The grounds are beautiful.

Awesome property with great service. Delicious food! It is everything you could want! It is definitely more of a private, small crowd atmosphere.

Beautiful and well maintained property in a park and golf course. Welcoming staff. Nice spa. Only negative was that it was not an easy walk to the beach house but they had multiple vans to take you when you wanted to go or return. You also have privileges at their sister Velas properties.

The property is beautiful! The staff are great and its very tranquil.

This place over all is immaculate and a favorite destination. We’ve been twice. Both times - plunge pool worth every extra penny. Room service and pool side service glorious. I don’t think the on site restaurant has anything fantastic as far as food taste but experience is wonderful. Rooms themselves could use updating and shower didn’t get hot enough for my liking. Few times we had to repeatedly ask for something but in the grand scheme of things worth every penny.

There are a small number of guests and it’s very intimate and they really do everything to make you feel special and comfortable.

My husband and I just returned from a short two night visit. Check-in does take awhile-maybe 20-30 minutes and includes a tour of the property, paperwork, and a drink. If your used to the 30 second check-in at other hotels this process can be unexpected especially after a long travel day. We opted for dinner at the beach club for the first night. The service and food were ok and the sunset was really spectacular. The 2nd night we ate at the onsite restaurant and the service and food were top notch. The best food we had was actually lunch both days at the onsite restaurant-it was cooked to order and was delicious. They do have a swim up bar at the pool and 24 hour included room service. You may want to ask about the different liquors and wines they have available when you first get there so you know what to ask for. It wasn’t until the last day that we realized we could ask for a specific liquor and wine instead of just ordering a margarita or a glass of white wine. They do have some nice tequilas but you have to specifically ask for it. One of our trip highlights was the couples massage we got at their in-house spa. We were also able to take advantage of the sauna, steam room and hydrotherapy afterwards which was included in the price of the massage. My muscles are still feeling relaxed from the massage and I will remember this from our trip. We did go to the Malecon using Uber($6)- they had a farmers market and great souvenir shops- bring good walking shoes.

Hotel tries to be luxurious but misses the boat across the board. Food is inconsistent and there was steak on the menu 4 nights in a row. Clearly an over order by the catering team, after this we decides to eat elsewhere - oh and this food was much better (and cheap). Do not let the all inclusive gluttony fool you into thinking the food is exclusive... it is not. Service was good but inconsistent. We paid for a quite with outdoor pool. The room was made up at random times and inconsistently. Quite often coming to do a turn down service only 2 hours after the room have been made for the day and plenty of hours sunshine outside! PS the hotel is only 5 minutes from the airport. Get an uber it will cost 4 dollars or 25 USD one way from the hotel......
