Hotel Santa Maria Novella

A wonderful location, beautifully decorated, comfortable rooms, great swevice , and a fantastic breakfast

We stayed at this hotel for one night, the last night of our honeymoon trip and 3rd city on our Roman Holiday Tour. The building is gorgeous, the location is fantastic, the service exceptional. We also had a room with a view of the plaza with huge windows to let in the air, the light and the sounds of the city. It is conveniently located within walking distance of Michaelengo's David in the Accademia museum and the amazing Uffizi gallery, cathedral and Duomo. The roof of the hotel has an open air terrace with bistro style tables and chairs. My husband and I enjoyed the view, the air and some wine and had the rooftop to ourselves. It was lovely and relaxing. The breakfast and restaurant area was stunning.

Fabulous! Made our stay in Florence. Its position, so close to the train stn and within easy walking distance of all the major sights, could not have been better. The staff were the friendliest and most helpful we have ever encountered, and our room, overlooking the piazza, was gorgeous. It was spotless, quiet and large, with a walk-in closet, safe, mini bar, comfy robes, etc. Our only minor criticism was the WiFi which tended to drop in and out during peak times.

This is a traditional hotel in a brilliant location. You are central to all the tourist sites and most are within walking distance. It is just around the corner from the bus and train station. If you are arriving at Florence airport there is a Volainbus that costs 6€ and runs every 30 mins and takes less than 20 mins. Our room was very comfortable with a lovely marble shower room and all the nice little touches like toiletries, robes and slippers. Tea and coffee making facilities and mini bar. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was better than expected. Would definitely stay again
