Very comfortable ro
Love staying here. So interesting watching the boats go past our window. Had the best steak in the restaurant and excellent service from Beth😁
We enjoyed our stay. It was a comfortable place for our mini family getaway & close to the beach. The only issue we had was the lack of microwave and toaster available in the room. (We requested a microwave, but was told none were available). We had packed breakfast supplies to make the morning routine easier with our young kids, & asked if our English-muffins (still in a sealed pack from the supermarket) could be toasted in their kitchen but were told it was not allowed due to health & safety reasons. So we ended up having to purchase some very expensive toast from their menu ...$8 for 1 slice of toasted bread is ridiculous!
From the moment we walked into the Rydges we were greeted with smiles. The staff were absolutely amazing and ensured that we were always happy during our stay. The rooms were clean, the harbour view was beautiful and the Honeysuckle precinct was just wonderful. Whilst prices may seem higher than other hotels, the Rydges was worth it due to the pool, facilities and customer service provided. Only downfall was the parking... be prepared to park on the street (if you ever find a spot) or search the local parking lots which are within walking distance. Flat rate $12 per day at "First Parking" in Argyle St... and that's only if you don't come in and out of the lot. Easier to become an 'express' member with them and save 20% per rate.
Nice hotel, bar and restaurant casual and easy to get to. No gym as mentioned- off site and need to pay. Pool awesome. Room good. 2 tvs , 1 in bedroom as well as living. Thought the price was too much however. The teas, coffee and milk available in room was just usual average hotel quality. 4.5 stars should have neen bette4 quality. Cheers :)
The workers in reception gave an insight into how unprofessional and disorganised the entirety of the hotel was, exhibiting clear signs of internalised racism and making passive aggressive remarks embodied by their tone of voice and bodily expressions. The hotel was in an atrocious state when we first walked in, grease and fingerprints lined the room and dust engulfed the closet and kitchen, new tissue was not provided which was a half empty. The overall atmosphere of the hotel made us feel unwelcome and unwanted, considering it was highly regarded as a “4 star hotel”, we had much higher expectations of our stay.
Great location, walk to the Honeysuckle Hotel and other restaurants. Friendly staff, very comfortable place to stay.
We stayed 4 nights after Xmas, so understandably it was busy. However, there was a short queue and check-in was quick and easy. Room was nice, quiet and matched the booking. It was nice to wake to the view of the water. The negatives: walking 200m each time to our room, very last room down the corridor, which was always too much for my 2yo to walk; sharing the room with cockroaches (one dead); annoying body wash bottles; and no on-site parking (paid street parking or car parks available). Dinner in the restaurant was great. Although we arrived 20mins to closing, they were accommodating. Food was delicious. However, breakfast was the opposite. We arrived at 10am and seated promptly, as it was busy we sat on the last table with barstools, which we didn’t mind. After 20 mins no-one took our order, so we decided to order at the bar. We were told coffees would be a wait. After around 25mins and 2 short strolls around the wharf for our 2yo, the coffee came. 10mins later I had to remind the waitress about my OJ, no apology just excuses. After more strolls and even a nappy change back in our room, our food finally came after an hour of ordering & it was nothing special. As half the restaurants were closed on this weekend, I would have expected more staff to keep up with demand.
Great stay
Stay in Ridges is full of comfort and the harbour view room was awesome. The location of Ridges is so happenning with lots of Resturants & Pubs. we are gold members of hotels.com but we didn't get the gift on arrival even during checkout ridges is asking for breakfast payment but as per our booking it was free. Too much confusion between Rydges & Hotels.com. That part is really annoying :(
