The Blu Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection

I was so happy with The Blu Hotel when I was in Cincinnati to pick up my son to bring him home for semester break in December that I stayed there again when I brought him back in January. The room I had this time was almost as good as the first one, with plenty of space, a small refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker with multiple complimentary packets of various coffee flavors, plus a hot chocolate one. The king size bed was comfortable, and the bedding was cozy and clean. I liked the way the sink and countertop area was separate from the toilet and bath/shower room but also had double doors separating it from the sleeping area. The grab-and-go breakfast was bagged with a granola bar, a Naked fruit smoothie, and choice of a packet with two hard-boiled eggs or a generous-sized cup of Chobani yogurt. My husband was with me this time so we didn't need the sleeper sofa, but when my son was with me in December, he slept on the sofa and had no problems with it. Unfortunately, this room did have a spill stain on the carpet, and the couch had a couple of stains, also. Oddly, both rooms had floors that weren't completely flat under the carpet. It was noticeable when walking without shoes on. Aisha checked us in again, and both she and the gentleman at the morning check-out were friendly and accommodating. I should also mention that the lobby is a lovely place. For the low price we paid, the few imperfections were no problem at all. We will happily stay there again.

Enjoyed my stay , comfortable beds great location. Only problem was the tub would not drain well taking showers.

We stayed here for two nights while passing through Cincinnati. We will definitely stay here again. The hotel is definitely an older hotel but that did not take away from our stay. Upon entering, we noticed how clean the hotel smelled. We got our room keys easily & entered our room. Very clean, bed was very comfortable. The only complaint we had was the hotel was very cold. We were able to adjust our temp in the room, but leaving the room felt like going outside. We also wish that breakfast had options. Each day we got a bag with a peanut butter bar, yogurt, and naked smoothie drink. But we had peanut and milk allergy so we couldn’t eat them. Maybe instead, breakfast options could be set out and guests can fill their bags themselves. Overall, we will stay here again when we are traveling through in the spring. The guy working at the front desk was very friendly, and the room was around 60 bucks. Can’t wait to come back!

The hotel is an older style. So has normal wear n tear through out but still pretty well kept. The room was very good size. Now, the bad part was that the room wasn't cleaned very well. There was hair in the bath tub and no stopper with signs it hadn't been cleaned. The wardrobe had extra linen for the pull out sofa and I found a used tampon on top of that. Had to go down to front desk because there was no phone in our room. We were showed three other rooms we could move to but, the room we were in was the cleanest out of all of them. The linen and towels were clean and fresh. Bed was comfortable, slept well. The blackout drapes do not pull closed over window and the lights outside made it hard to stay asleep. Breakfast was a bagged sack breakfast which was pretty decent. Close to convience stores and restaurants. Overall, friendly staff, comfy bed and pillows, but they need to have housekeeping do better job.

The couch in the room had more stains than what would have been considered usual wear/tear. The bathroom was very clean and the room was comfortable. The entire hotel was immaculate and smelled like linen/clean. Front desk staff was amazing. Would definitely recommend and will stay at this hotel again.

Love the style- The courtyard like interior and the large rooms are nice in a great location.

Nice room, VERY comfortable, very clean. Only minor issue was a shower with very little water pressure and drain that was rather slow. Everything else was 10/10!

Clean room, friendly service, great amenities. Everything was sanitized multiple times that we saw. Will stay here if we are back in the area.
