The Capitol Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection

Definitely on the list of worst hotel experiences I have encountered. Probably only topped by a hotel that I had ants crawling on me all night and had someone trying to breakin my room in the middle of the night. The room reeked of cigarettes.....it had no heat....I had no Blanket......there was no hot water......they gave no breakfast......IT WAS NO GOOD!!!! The accommodations at a hostel in Syria seriously would probably would put this place to shame. Avoid unless you like to be tortured.

Close to train, bus and hwy. The room was clean enough. Some of the staff were very nice and some not so much. They ran out of coffee. The half and half had expired 2 months ago. There were people yellingAnd playing loud music in the parking lot at night and cars and motorcycles racing through the street throughout out the night. The lobby was cute and had a ping pong table and some beverages for purchase.

Fantastic hotel and staff! When I checked in, the manager saw I was from out of town and upgraded me to an outside room with a gorgeous view of the park and capitol building. When I got to my room, the smoke alarm was beeping every few moments. I went back to the front desk to let them know, and they moved me to another outside view room. Daily cleaning service, although for some reason one of the days they never came. It could be because I skipped it one day so maybe she made a note I only wanted service every other day? Hotel is centrally located downtown to numerous attractions. Clean, quiet. My only complaint was not knowing ahead of time that the hotel has temporarily stopped their usual hot breakfast service and instead has daily boxes with breakfast foods. But that's really on me for only relying on the hotel description here and not checking the hotel's own website. Either way, if you're OK with a mini muffin, fruit, and yogurt with a bottle of water for the in-room coffee maker, then you'll be fine. Otherwise, at least until regular breakfast service resumes, I would suggest buying breakfast stuff at a nearby market since the rooms have a fridge and microwave.

the location on the park is great, but this place is super sketchy, and there was some dude lingering in the garage who was there right next to my car two times I went to go get something and was really freaking me out. I wasn't asked anything about my travel (from a "bad list" state" or given any info. about covid, so I doubt this place does anything to try and mitigate risk either. I felt anxious and uncomfortable the entire time I was there. Did not feel safe or comfortable to me on any level.

This was my first stay here and honestly LOVED IT. I do weekend getaways with my boyfriend and I was having a hard time finding a place (the last hotel I would book with for these trips ended with a bad experience & I will never go back) But after staying here this place will become somewhere I book with often. Staff was super polite and helpful. Rooms were beautiful and beds were comfy. I understand with COVID they can’t serve hot breakfast but what they did provide was sufficient enough. Plus rooms have coffee and tea makers can’t go wrong with that at all. So yes no complaints here. Great stay will definitely book again for sure.
