HYATT house San Diego/Sorrento Mesa

It was a relatively smooth operation. Booked about a week or so ahead completely forgot to fill out the breakfast form before going to bed (crashed out after hours of driving). So had to skip out on that but an overall nice space out of the way traffic wise by a nice area.

Everything was great but the refrigerator doesn’t work very well

Our room was a lot smaller than most hotels I’ve stayed at. Aside from that, the room was clean and the staff was very friendly.

The night check in staff was great. Night clerk was very nice and accomodating. The next day staff not so much. I noticed I was being watched by security as I was loading my vehicle for checkout. Then I was asked by the caucasian hotel clerk for my identification. Then I noticed I was locked out of my hotel room 10 minutes before the noon checkout time and couldn't retrieve the rest of my luggage nor my wallet that was inside the room still to show her. S a minority, this was very annoying and very bad timing with events currently happening in American political climate.

It was a perfect size room for us. And family of five. We loved having a full kitchen and it would have been a fantastic stay but at the end the manager had an attitude problem. They try to charge us for parking even though on hotels.com the hotel was included in the search for parking included. I was not told that check in that parking is not included… But upon check out the manager tried to charge me $24. She said $12 a night. On hotels.com it does not say that there is paid parking. I had to pull up the website and show her. She still gave me a hard time and Insisted that I should have asked is parking was free because the website doesn’t say free parking it just says parking. That is absurd. If it didn’t say there was a fee for parking it is reasonable to believe that parking is free when parking is listed on one of the amenities. She finally gave in as a “one time courtesy”. She should go through a customer service training class. She was very rude and left a very poor impression for this otherwise great hotel. Also the listing included a Buffay breakfast… Which is one of the selling factors… Of why I chose it for my family. However due to Covid, they only provided a to go breakfast that was not the equivalent of a buffet breakfast. It came with a fruit, yogurt, A muffin, cereal, milk, and a juice. It should have come with a choice of eggs, bacon and an English muffin. That would be more closely resembling a buffet breakfast to go.

Ive stayed at this place twice and I absolutely love it. I have haf the opportunity to travel many places such as Brazil, Dubai, New York etc. No place that I have traveled can even amount to the staff at Hyatt House here. Gil, the front desk clerk was amazing. He was very helpful and he REMEMBERED MY NAME! THIS IS A HUGE PLUS. Gil deserves a promotion! I absolutely love the staff here. The rooms are very spacious. For the price, this is a an amazing stay. LOVED IT. I will be staying here more in the future.

Place is very comfortable. Loved the packed breakfast in the morning. Its $12 a day for parking but the hotel may work with you in reducing it down to half depending on the duration of your stay. I stayed for exactly one week and got the parking fee reduced to half.

This is not what I expected from Hyatt Hotel. The service was non satisfactory. The TV, power plugs nothing was working. There were small stuff like cups/glasses for coffee were not even there though there was coffee dispenser. And the breakfast given was really bad. I would recommend to stay somewhere else with that kind of money. I am sure you will get more value from your stay.

the room has a kitchen area, living room area and a bedroom all in their own areas. Its felt like a home, not a hotel. This has by far been my favorite hotel. I give this place 10 stars.
