Mercure Rouen Champ de Mars

Marisol gave us outstanding service after arriving at the hotel only to find that I had booked for 2020 by mistake. She sorted everything out and managed to change the booking. Thank you so much. The restaurant, bar, all staff are so pleasant and helpful. Exceptional.

The first room I was given smelled of animal urine, a pet friendly hotel. My second room was lovely. The front desk staff member that checked me is was lovely, she was very helpful and understanding. I ate in the restaurant at the hôtel the first night, Le Honfleur. The chef should be fired! I ordered a veal dish that was liked eating shoe leather. It was dry and tired looking, as if pulled from a tray sitting in the oven. It was served with flavourless dried out rice. No vegetables. The dessert was supposed to be a creeped with caramelized apples. Trust me they were not caramelized but quite cold. The hotel is not t all in the ideal location for stepping out the door and finding lots of bars and restaurants. You would be required to walk about 15 minutes to be in the really popular and vibrant area. The train station is a good 30 minute walk. The air conditioning worked well and my second room was very spacious. I wouldn’t stay here again when I return to Rouen, and I will return...a stunningly beautiful city.

A very good stay. We particularly appreciated the really lovely meal in the restaurant. Yes, we would certainly recommend this hotel to our friends.

Staff was very helpful and told us about special events that were going on in town. Nice room and hotel has underground parking. It is an easy walk to the local sites.

Our room did not look like any of the pictures online. Looked dated. Walkable to historic area but would stay closer next time.
