Amazing place but the beds were not our type but still luxury in every other aspect of the Grove Park Inn

Another wonderful weekend

Loved our stay as we always do. Grove Park has so much history. I have had people ask me, “what is so special about the property considering the price tag they put on staying there. The rooms don’t look all that.” If you want New York modern, this isn’t for you. It’s not supposed to be. It’s historic. They tried to maintain the essence of what E.W. Grove and Fred Seely had in their original vision over 100 years ago. It is a special place. If you love food, Grove Park will not disappoint. Amazing food!! Staff was very accommodating to me and my family. We brough the kids this time. It was their first time and they can’t wait to come back. They’re only regret was that they did not get to see the Pink Lady. They loved GPI as we do. Thanks for the small amount of snow. Stunning views!!!

Disappointed With Room

Beautiful, historic and scenic hotel. Personnel were very helpful. Disappointed with room. It was in the Main Lodge which is the oldest part of the hotel. Overlooked front entrance and parking lot. Across the hall were rooms with a scenic mountain view. No hand towels, washcloths or bath rug, had to request them. Refrigerator freezer almost completely frozen with ice build-up. Had to request a microwave. Felt like we were given a bottom shelf room because we booked on Hotels.com. Room receipt even indicated discount room. Also requested a military discount but they were unable to accommodate because we booked on a third party site. I feel that during the pandemic people who continue to support businesses should be appreciated by going the extra mile to show that. I am quite certain that they were not even near full occupancy so an "upgrade" would have made me want to return sooner. We enjoyed the stay but would have appreciated at least a room with a view for the price we paid.

Wonderful hotel, amazing spa, sub par rooms.

I LOVE the spa and it did not disappoint even in the stupid COVID era. However, for the cost of the hotel stay the rooms are sub par. We were way down low with no view, the bedside light on my bed was broken and the whole Vanderbilt wing is in serious need of a Reno... or just don’t charge $550 a night to stay there

Beautiful, but don’t recommend overnight stay

Average - the entire property is open to the public. Overnight guests are not given priority restaurant reservations or any additional services beyond what the general public receives. Stay off site in comparable accommodations, likely with at least free coffee for guests, visit GPI for the day and receive the exact same service and amenities as those staying on-site for twice the price.

I really wanted to like it...

I've been wanting to go to the Grove Park Inn for a while. We went over Christmas. The room was $306/nite, for a small queen size room (the king upgrade was $100 more). The room was so small & amenities were: a tiny fridge & coffee maker, 2 bathrobes. Ok that's fine we were planning on spending most of the time at the spa, except you can't get in it. You will need to book your spa dates 30 days in advance, unless it's a holiday or weekend, then just forget it, your not getting in. You can't get into the awesome pool/grotto they take lots of pictures of, because it's in the spa area. Treatments are starting at $200+ and you need to get one of those to have access to the spa, unless it's a holiday/weekend, then just forget it. They boast this giant facility, but it appears only to be open to guests spending a lot more money than I was spending? I'm not sure really. The staff is great! I forgot about the endless car alarms going off from 3am to 5am, it took them forever to get them under control. We booked 3 days, checked out after day 1 since we wouldn't be able to use any of the facilities.
