The Island by Hotel RL

We had pool deck room. Only 2 handicap spots by the building and they were taken. No luggage carts to use either. Room had sand on the floor, there was someone’s used mask on the floor, coffee maker didn’t work, the ac unit was not working properly showed it was 68 degrees but was hot and humid in the room. Every time the ac unit kicked on it was so loud it would wake you up. Their site showed chairs on the beach, there was zero chairs to enjoy a relaxing sit down by the water. The good parts, customer service was good. Unfortunately they are so far away from our room so Concierge wasn’t an open to get what we needed. The restaurant employees and manager Rita were FABULOUS. Great coffee and breakfast at the restaurant by the lobby. The area is spectacular and the beach the hotel is on is gorgeous. Pristine white powdery soft sand. The water is emerald green and clean. We are from south Florida so to see north Florida’s beaches so beautiful is surprisingly awesome.

We were traveling with a trailer and it was definitely difficult to find parking. Also coffee in the morning was a difficulty although there was a restaurant but they keep coffee behind bar and i had to walk the entire property to wait 20 min at bar to get coffee.

The view was great. We had beach access and 4 pools available with games. The room was nice and comfortable. My only complaint was that the hallway flooring caused a loud reverberating noise when the house keeping carts went down. At 7 am on Friday morning and 8:30 on Saturday morning, it sounded like a parade of carts marching through. The staff were only doing their duties, but the floors made it sound so loud that it woke my wife and I both days on our vacation. We paid for a king suite with a beach side balcony. We went to relax and was not able to sleep in like we wanted due to the noise. I doubt we stay again because of that.

Location is perfect, right on the beach. The pool and hot tub are amazing, the room was very nice and clean.

Resort was very nice, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We could tell that it was an older hotel that had been upgraded. The beach balcony room was amazing with the view of the gulf and sound of the surf. The only negative was that the sheets had not been cleaned thoroughly.

Ive had better rooms at better prices i understand off season but what they advertised was not what we got i understand renovations but not 7:30 in the morning with a jackhammer i wouldn't be so critical if it wasn't our anniversary overall not a bad place would like to see it in a few years when its done

Amazing trip for my 40th birthday! Beautiful renovations. Gorgeous beach. Staff was so great.

Great location and nice room.

There was prostitutes walking around and taking pictures by the hot tub. Kinda grossed me out.
