Hotel Grand Chancellor Melbourne

I thought overall it was comfortable but found access ws not as easy as I would have been used to. The restaurant was very nice.

Hotel was Ok, rooms a little small but it was cheap. I travelled for business and was advised my tax invoice would be emailed, however, it wasn't received and now I have to chase for it.

Our initial room was very poor. The TV did not work and the bathroom was not okay. We were upgraded which we appreciated. A nice bathroom with good lighting. Our king bed was 2 singles held together with a large Velcro strip. It was uncomfortable and definitely kept us separated. Not ideal! Handprints on the glass door, hadn’t been cleaned for awhile & an unpleasant smell in the room.

Liked the ability to have my car parked for me LOVED the restaurant’s food and atmosphere Unfortunately we stayed during Corona virus time so many restrictions on how staff could service patrons

Clean room, comfortable bed and priced accordingly. The stay was close by for meetings and near restaurants. Reception and parking was excellent

Wouldnt give me a refund or credit for my room despite the grand prix being canceled an melbourne essentially being shutdown

When booking on Hotels.com website I made sure I was booking a room with a double AND single bed. We travelled with our 15 yo daughter. The first room we were allocated was little more than a closet and had no extra bed. Not good enough! We returned to reception and was given another room, slightly larger, and a trundle bed was installed. That ensured that what space there initially was disappeared. Cattle are treated better. To cap matters off, the elevated shower was inadequately drained and consequently the entire bathroom nearly drowned.

The service was excellent but the accommodation is old and worn. One of the lifts was out of order, the bathroom door didn’t work properly, the bathroom products were mismatched, the rooms and corridors were pokey.

Staff very friendly and efficient. Close to Theatre, Chinatown and Shops. We did not like that there was a leak on the carpet near our room in the corridor which was being dried with an industrial drier and we had to ask for it to be moved. The shower in our first room was cold. The staff explained that the heaters were not turned up until around 6pm and that the water had to come from the 17th floor down to our floor 2nd. After five minutes the shower did run hot. We were upgraded to the 9th Floor. When we came back from dinner the hot water had been turned down again! Sunday morning at 6.30am the water was cold again! We had to have our room keys, reactivated 3 times. A lift was out all weekend, with alternatives but only to the even floors, so our 2nd room 9th level had to be reached via stairs. Not good enough for the price we paid.
