Holiday Inn Guildford

Room was cold and air con did not work- apart from that ok under COVID restrictions.

No instructions put in place for the new rules.. not displaying the pool isn’t in use due to covid the lack of information provided by the hotel is ridiculous.

You usually expect large chain hotels to be much of a muchness when it comes to the hotel and the facilities offered. I understand about the pandemic that we are in but there has to be a standard set across hotels, especially between hotels in the same group. I don't always stay in Holiday Inn hotels but the Guildford one really disappointed. For a start there is no restaurant. This is ok but I'm wondering what the difference is between Guildford and Norwich is as this week (I was in Guildford last week), the hotel restaurant is open and serving breakfast. In Guildford there was an unpleasant microwaved bacon panini which wasn't worth 12 pounds. The hotel appeared almost empty and had clearly been neglected during any closure. Everything had an air of abandonment. This was pretty obvious on the outside of the hotel where rats seemed to be taking advantage of any lack of people. I saw a rat at least 4 or 5 times, once scurrying across the main entrance as I arrived, lovely. The staff try their best and were friendly and helpful but this sort of work environment is bound to erode this. I made me think twice about booking a Holiday Inn again. Thankfully the one this week is better cared for.

The family room I booked was amazing, huge and well laid out. Perfect for 2 grandparents and 2 yr old and 5 week old grandchildren.....except it was on LG floor with no lift!! Staff very helpful on arrival tried to change rooms but hotel full. Helped us down the stairs with all our stuff but such a shame to put such a fantastic room on LG floor with such young children

I have stayed several times in the past but this recent visit was disappointing and we checked out two days early. The room looked tired and dated and when I mentioned this at reception I was told it was because I had asked for twin beds. We stayed in 3 other hotels over the past week and they had all areas and facilities open without compromising current covid conditions. All facilities were closed at The Holiday Inn and a drink ordered from reception was served in a plastic cup My son saw a rat twice by a bin to the left of the main door . The hotel looked like deserted and I can only remember seeing two members of staff and they were reception. I have to say they were pleasant I will think twice before staying there again

Really pleasant, friendly staff who made the covid rules work for their customers. Excellent meals, good room, plenty of space(twin) and very clean. Good location for the surrounding towns in North york moors.

Very dated rooms, but clean. Needs updating. A bit too expensive for its looks.

Clean room and pleasant helpful staff. In these times was a good experience.

Nothing more to expect. As a professional I should not be given room with interconnected door due to noisy neighbors
