Sideways Inn

Phenomenal stay during covid. Super clean, friendly staff and accommodating to all our needs. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

We had to pay $11 extra for resort fees like free 'breakfast' which we didn't do, parking etc when we booked from hotels.com, it didn't tell us we had to do that so it was a surprise charge. The front desk employee told us he would speak to his manager and waive it but the next morning when we were about to checkout, a new front desk employee told us they can't do that when I was already told they would waive it. So frustrating. The cable tv is the worst. It kept going in and out and while this is not an important amenity in the past, it is now because of the covid curfew and stay at home orders. Also saw some weird little hairs in our bathroom, and our neighbors upstairs kept walking around hence the constant booming footstep noises for most of the night. Worst stay.

Fantastic stay! Quirky and unique vibe with photographic memorabilia from the old west that had me entranced for a few moments. Super nice bed and sheets, easy WiFi and exceptionally clean. Best place to stay in Buellton!

Sideways Inn is a great place. We enjoyed our stay!

The Fairfield in Atascadero was rated the same as the Sideways inn in Buelton. Fairfield was great, the Sideways inn was a dump?? Would have spent a second night at the Fairfield but couldn’t talk to anyone at Hotels.com to book the second night.

Overall a really great trip with a super-friendly front desk! We loved that we got a free upgrade to a room with a balcony and they set up a bottle of wine and chocolates upon request (and $$$). The grounds were clean and people were good about social distancing... I didn't see anyone until we went to the lounge, and parties kept far apart. I thought the decor was cute and for the price, this was a great value! I would stay here again. My only complaints would be that the walls are thin and so I could hear every word of every conversation from the people next door, including them calling me a nasty name when my complaint to the front desk got forwarded to them. Just wish they had been more conscientious, since they stayed up all night -- really wasn't trying to start anything, just needed them to quiet down at 7am in the mornin. But this is sort of outside the control of the hotel employees. The only other thing is there seemed to be some kind of mix-up about our check-out. Starting at around 8 AM, we got about one knock from staff every hour for a) housekeeping, b) if we needed a late check-out (it was 9am... check-out is 11am.... I'm still sleeping in on my vacation!!!) and c) literally no idea, but he said he thought the room was empty and checked out. I was irritated by the end of it because I was looking forward to sleeping in and didn't really get to do it for the above reasons. That being said, not a dealbreaker, maybe just something to keep in mind for the future.

Love staying at the sideways inn.. so conveniently located to everything. One recommendation I would make is to upgrade the mattresses, they are too firm, had trouble sleeping.

It was a great night stay. Great place to stay when exploring the Buellton, Solvang, Santa Ynez, area.
