Holiday Inn Express & Suites American Fork - North Provo

I liked the property a lot, the only problem was the party going on in the room above us! the noise was so loud the first night we called the front desk and complained at around 12:30 but it still went on till after 3:30 and I was unable to sleep before my meeting I was there for. The next night they were at it again around 12:30, but no one answered at the front desk so my associate that was there with me went out to the desk and no one was there so he went up to the room to address the other guests. They were so loud that they couldn't even hear him pound on the door. They had left the door propped open so he pushed the door and yelled in to get someone's attention, they apologized and turned down the music and were quiet the rest of the night. When he came back to the room there was finely someone at the front desk, so he told them what happened and they did go address the issue. I would definitely stay there again because of the comfort and friendly staff, but I would hope the parties are not allowed.

It was dirty, I paid for an extra person but they didn’t have complete bedding for the couch. They weren’t doing laundry often so they didn’t have clean towels. The back door was bolted shut because it was broken. Garbage was stacked up and pouring out in all the trash bins in the lobby. The staff was nice and were trying to help but it each shift it appeared that they were by themself.

This hotel is pretty run down and our room wasn't clean. The sheets on one of the beds were dirty, there was body hair in the bathroom and the paint in the tub was chipped and scraped. The "to-go" breakfast was nearly black bananas, muffins and coffee without creamer. Two of the downstairs doors were broken, making it really inconvenient to get in and out of our room. There are several Holiday Inn hotels nearby this one that are likely in better condition--go to one of those.

Cons: The person who checked us in could have been friendlier. They only do housekeeping every 3 days and when I asked for housekeeping on our technical 3rd day (family can create quite a mess after 2 1/2 days) all they did was refill TP, take out some of the trash (they missed all the trash on one side of the room) and gave us some towels. They did not make the beds, did not give us clean hand towels and did not even wipe down the sink in the bathroom. We were also missing half the cable channels and the heater sounded like it was dying when it turned on. Pros: Day staff was extremely polite and pleasant. Hotel was 10 - 20 min from everything we needed from a shopping mall to the local Wal-Mart

I came to check in (a single mom with 3 kids) the clerk ignored me for 5 minutes before asking if I was checking in. Then spent 10 more minutes printing a sign to close the pool (the biggest reason I booked here was for the pool), meanwhile my 3 young kids are running around the lobby in excitement. And before all you Karen’s come for me talking about “learn to control your kids” I don’t mean they were raising hell I just meant that there are 3 of them and 1 of me, check in should have been quick and easy especially since I already booked/paid. Aside from the long checking her attitude was HORID! Definitely did not feel welcomed. Getting to our room was fine but honestly after a start like that you really notice things like the stairs are covered in some kind of crumbs smashed into the carpet. Our room key wasn’t activated properly. Our room was sub-par. The hotel is right next to the noise freeway with our room facing it. The bathroom tub had a dirt ring around it with the shower head covered in lime buildup and the wallpaper is peeling. The bedside table was also covered in gunk. The next morning breakfast was also closed unexpectedly. We made the most of it but I would not pay to stay here ever again!

The hot tub was warm like bath water and murky. It seemed there was no chlorine and it was dirty. There was dirt buildup on the tiles. The pool looked like it hadn’t been cleaned either. We found bugs in our room. No continental breakfast yet the price was still the same. Wasn’t impressed with the amenities with the amount we paid.

This hotel was not the cleanest. We changed rooms 3 times over issues we had with the lack of cleanliness, from the bathrooms being dirty, to the tub not draining at all while using the shower, to gross bedding. The hotel staff was apologetic and tried to be helpful but we were not at all happy with how unclean of the rooms were. To make matters worse we were told since we booked through Expedia the hotel could in no way compensate us monetarily, either by refund or discount for our stay.
