Sonesta St George Hotel Luxor

The hotel is richly decorated with polished wood and stones, and is the most attractive of the few dozen hotels I have stayed at in Egypt. It has only one flaw: there is an electric generation station next door on the hotel's north side. So in order to avoid the buzz and whine of the generator, rooms on the south side should be requested.

This was an amazing trip the hotel sits right on the Nile There is only one downside the pool closes very early I think that it should stay open until at least 10 PM

Vert nice deluxe hotel. You must sighn a waiver to swim in evening. You must pay extra for in room wifi. Lobby has free wifi. wifi some times did not work. When entering room make sure wifi works. Ask for different room if it does not work.

Beautiful hotel on the Nile. Great location, close to main attractions. Staff always friendly and accommodating. Did not like the fact that to get the "free" wi-fi, you had to go to the lobby where you were solicited by hotel services staff (i.e. spa, hair, travel). No different than the common vendors outside. This hotel should be an oasis after you experience the outside hustle and bustle. Other option to get "free" wi-fi is to go to happy hour at the bar. Again, just so you can buy their food and drinks.

Property is clean but room and furnishings are a bit dated. Breakfast buffet was good with great service. Free access to internet is limited to lobby and you need to remember your user id and password ... and religion every time the phone shuts down - little painful. The city view is not a pleasant view ... :)

Nice Hotel with excellent staff . it’s guarded with security with guns!!!!!!!. this is something that you don’t see in other countries. having said that we had a excellent time and we would recommend this hotel for your trip.

I didn’t like the fact that they are still charging for internet connections as a guest. This is not suitable anymore in our day and age. The food weather the hotel is full or not should always keep the food standard constant. The F&B needs revision. It’s supposed to be a 5 star hotel after all !

Right on the Nile. Our room had a fantastic once in a lifetime view. I could see Hatshepsut's Temple and the hot air balloons.

The hotel staff was very helpful and very friendly! We were certainly stay there again!

I have stayed at this hotel since it was built. Over the years it has grown but still maintains a superb standard. Terrific location on the banks of the River Nile. Worth anyone staying if travelling to Luxor.
