For the amount of money we paid for this room WHAT a DISAPPOINTMENT !!!!! The room stunk like mildew,the faucet leaked the entire time, the mini-fridge didn't have shelves. Never felt more ripped off then 2 days ago's stay.

The bed was too hard. No continental breakfast as stated in ad. Was told owners did not want to do it at this time. Best western across the street had pre packed bags with fruit, yogurt. , muffins, and coffee.

Americas Worst Value Inn
I walked into the lobby with my two young kids and our puppy after a long day of driving, and was immediately told by the gentleman at the reception desk to "take your dog outside". This was a surprise, as I'd specifically booked this hotel (it's actually a motel) because it was supposedly pet friendly. When I explained this, the receptionist stubbled through a half-baked justification about other guests potentially having allergies, even though we were the only guests in the lobby. His tone was confrontational and unapologetic. So, having been forced to leave my young children outside with our dog, I went back inside and attempted to check in. At which point, the receptionist said the motel only has three pet-friendly rooms and they were all booked. He then, rather unhelpfully, explained that third-party websites such as Hotels.com shouldn't offer pet-friendly bookings. At no point did he apologize or show any concern that our potential stay was ruined. I couldn't find another hotel in St Ignace or the surrounding area, so had to drive another three hours west to find a place that had rooms. In summary, I can't vouch for the cleanliness or comfort of Americas so-called Best Value Inn St. Ignace, as I ended up not staying there. But I can wholeheartedly recommend that, based on the rude and uncouth reception my young family received, you stay elsewhere. Or, as my kids said as we drove away: "that place sucks".
