Hampton Inn Hazleton

After driving 12 hours I was exhausted, needed a shower a comfortable bed and a warm meal to refresh and finish my road trip home. I was willing to pay the extra money $132 a night for a clean room with all the bells & whistles. Instead, I got a dirty shower, a backed up sink and there was still food in the mini fridge from the previous guest. There was no microwave as the only microwave was in the lobby and that was dirty as well! Hampton Inn usually provides coffee round the clock but when I asked front desk about the coffee they said I could reheat what was left in the microwave?!?! Or I could use their coffee maker in the room to make my own...I had been driving for many hours and the only reason I went to Hampton Inn was because I remembered they used to provide excellent service. I would never use the coffee makers in the room since finding a floating bug in one years ago. So, when I complained about all the issues the front desk guy made a fresh pot of coffee.

The stay was good; however, at 9:30 in the morning, a male staff member used his key and entered my room. He did not knock or identify himself; he just opened the door. I was sitting on the bed; thankfully, I was dressed and ready for the day. I stated, "May I help you"? He then stated, "Sorry". Then he left. What if I was in the bathroom and didn't hear him open the door? He would have come all the way into my room. Then what? I reported the incident to the front desk. The only response I received was, I'm sorry. I'll tell him about it." About an hour later, a female staff member, with the cleaning department, let herself into my room without knocking or identifying herself. I stated to her, "This is the second time someone has let themselves into my room without knocking." She stated, "Sorry." Additionally, when I stayed at this property for a weekend in June, a female staff member had entered my room without knocking or identifying herself. I blew it off but then it happened again during this stay and by a male. Apparently, it is routine practice for staff members to let themselves into occupied rooms without first making sure the room is empty. I will not be staying at this property again.

We didn't get the room with the view that we paid for. We wanted to sit by the fire pit and look at the stars,, it wasn't working, We went to dinner next door TOP OF THE 80'S. Horrible service and a rude manager. The hotel it self over all was nice. I would rate it in the middle.

Great hotel with a wonderful view! Wish the outdoor pool would have been open but otherwise nothing to complain about. Rooms were nice and staff was friendly.

Room was really nice and clean . Bathroom floor was dirty there was quarters under the sink and black long hair on the floor . That was only negative part

Clean, accessible to the I-81. Only negative is no wi fi access.

This is a beautiful and very clean hotel. The staff were exceptionally pleasant. We stayed during covid-19, and the hotel put together a grab and go kind of breakfast since they were not allowed to do the continental breakfast. The room was very comfortable.
