The Davidson

The most comfortable bed in any hotel I’ve ever stayed! The tub was the seller for me and it paid off.

I liked everything about it! Especially the tub, bed, and historical feel that was maintained. Nothing negative I can think of at all!

The Davidson was very clean overall. We were comfortable and enjoyed our Anniversary. It may become a great boutique hotel but work is needed. First, I never received my room code to enter the hotel though I emailed twice. Second, the TV did not work. Chromecast didn’t seem to like my new iPhone (what are iPhone users options?) and DirectTV only showed us their home screen. At $200+ night it should work. Third, I don’t like finding used soda cans in a “clean” room. We found four in two different trash bins. Finally, the description of the hotel talks about lush grounds... yeah, not yet. No where to sit that wasn’t weeds or near a stale koi pond overgrown with algae. Maybe some day. The hotel and public rooms were overall awesome. I felt slighted for the price but we did not let it ruin our stay. Hope this helps.

This property is amazing. Our room 302 was perfect and exactly what we were hoping for. The view from the bed is a million dollar view.

The Davidson is a great place to stay. Built in 1915, it is full of wood accents, wainscoting and early 1920s charm. The edifice is grand and the entrance equally impressive. The hotel is furnished with period pieces which enhance its charm. Art work adorns the walls. The bathroom was spacious and done in the retro style of the '20s. The room was spacious and well appointed again with period furniture. It was extremely quiet and cozy - altho the heat in our room was lacking - a call to the manager brought us a portable heater, and we were assured that maintenance would be correcting any problems. It has only been open for 2 months so I'm sure they are still working out any kinks. The king bed was very comfortable and the bedding kept us warm. This is close to downtown St. Paul and convenient to the freeway. They do not allow children so it's a great couples getaway. We will return!

Beautiful house on Summit, the Room was gorgeous and light and airy with a grand view of St Paul.

We loved the charm and character, the beautiful spacious airy rooms and the little details down to the black washcloth that said "Makeup Remover" on it:). We loved Bon Vie, the restaurant where you bring your vouchers from the Davidson to. We also received 2 vouchers for 2 drinks at one of the inn's sister properties, which are landmark institutions with great reputation. We loved the "walkability" to so many things which in nicer weather we would have taken advantage of, particularly walking to the University Club for use of their pool. We have already told all our friends about this new, well-done find!
