Best Western Plus Karitza

Lovely place, but rooms are very small... Too small. Pool area very good and very private, staff are lovely. It's very clean also and location is good as a 10 minute walk downhill to centre. Supermarket is around the corner. Unfortunate room was tiny.

We found the Karitza to be a great hotel to stay at to visit Biarritz. The hotels best attribute is the staff, who were always friendly and very helpful whenever we needed anything. The hotel is kept clean and tidy, including our bedroom. I found our bedroom to be a little on the small side, we struggled with room to put two suitcases; but for the price I paid I can’t really complain. The bedroom is well appointed with the usual TV, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer, and a good number of clothes hangers. The bed was really comfortable, I slept so well. The bathroom was clean, was of an adequate size and everything worked well. Air conditioning was also perfect. We only used the restaurant for breakfast one morning; for continental breakfast there is lots of choice, but I found the English type of cooked food to be minimal; there were bacon, baked beans & a self cook egg boiler pan, that probably needed a bit more water and turning up a little to work well, it’s a good idea but I’m a bit useless in the mornings and took me about 3 visits to manage to cook an egg. Overall the breakfast was good but I thought 14 euros each is a little expensive. The hotel has car parking which you need to telephone them to prebook ahead of your stay; which we did, it cost 13 euros/day which I think is fine. Overall we liked the Karitza, and thought that all staff were excellent, efficient, helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay again.

We have not stayed in Biarritz before and did not know much about it. We chose this hotel because we wanted to be a little away from the centre. It takes about 10 minutes to walk down hill to the main street and about 15 minutes to walk back up the hill. It is not a new building but the rooms looked as if they had been recently refurbished. The bathroom was small but in good condition and everything worked. When we arrived there were two Nespresso pods provided with the machine but when we had used them they were not replaced so we had no coffee in the room for two days. The bedroom was a little eccentric, a very large desk under the window left little room for cases,; two chairs for the desk but no room between the bed and the desk to allow for the chair to be pulled out any distance. One of the smallest rooms we have found in France but nicely decorated and perfectly clean. Miniscule hanging space and no storage meant we felt a bit cramped. Breakfast good but not outstanding, decent buffet but poor coffee. Nice garden with a decent swimming pool, underground parking and a good standard of decor with some stylish touches.The staff were friendly and helpful but sometimes the desk was not manned. The hotel hosts functions and this means that tourists can be in the minority. We would consider staying here again because it is good value for money but it has a few compromises.

Tiny room (Comfort), even smaller shower. However, nicely decorated and helpful staff. Excellent pool area. Slightly out of the best areas or Biarritz but quiet and walkable in 7-15mins depending on the area of town/beaches you want to visit.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. 10 min walk to town center. Across street from bus to Airport and Bayonne. 11€ fare from Airport. Amenities light. Shower shampoo dispenser and shower head were not working properly. Overall good for our 1 nite stay

The photos don't do this hotel justice. Nicely renovated, very clean, excellent facilities, secure underground parking (13 Euros per night), bar, restaurant, very friendly staff and 5-10 minutes walk in to the centre of Biarritz. Really enjoyed our 4 nights there and Biarittz is a fantastic City with great restaurants, wonderful shops and very clean.

The staff is the best!

Only stopped over for a day but the Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Only a 10 minute walk from the beach. Good breakfast too.
