He (Chad) charged me and never gave me the room! Never got a key or EVEN WALKED INTO A RM!! He told u guys he was going to and then had a zillion excuses because he didn't like the guy carrying my bags who I barely knew! He made fun of my injury from an accident and the way I was walking! Racial and disability DISCRIMINATION!
Many features didn't work like faucet. Just overall not well maintained and rather delapidated property.
Shower did not provide hot water. Everything else was fine.
Motel was out in the country. Great area. Quiet, safe & clean. Only 10 minute drive to city life. Place is old, small and basic. Perfect for folks on budget.
The guy in the reception was so rude and charged me 20 dollars for the upgraded non-smoking room. But the room was dirty, old and the light in the bathroom can not be turned on. I had a bad experience.
It was very outdated and unclean. It was blood and stains all over covers and mattress. I checked out the same day after checking in.
This is one of the worst hotels I stayed at and I travel a lot! First, the front desk attendant was not welcoming at all. She asked me several times if I smoked and had a pet... more than once is too much, she asked me at least 5 times as if I were lying. Then she had the nerve to tell me to make sure I returned the standard plastic card key back before leaving. It was a very unpleasant check in and I was tired. I rolled my eyes several times at her for being redundant as if I was planning to break the rules. The room I received did not look like the room on the pictures. It felt like false advertisement and misleading. The room was very outdated, faded, run down, and it did not feel clean. I didn’t want to touch much, things felt sticky, and the room smelled like smoke. The nerve of asking if I smoked when the room provided smelled like smoke itself. The lights didn’t work properly... it’s like you turn on one light and the other doesn’t work. I could hear people in the next room. It was a very uncomfortable stay. I recommend staying somewhere else. The surrounding area wasn’t too pleasant either. I needed a place to stay for the night and I will surely never return or recommend this place to anyone.
The room was clean. I liked the first floor access with parking at your door.
With a need to visit Duke Hospital, I have stayed at nearly a dozen places in Durham in the past year. This was one of the worst. I expected only two things of my room: that it be basic but clean. It met only half those expectations. My standards, despite being low, were still not met at this location. The front desk staff didn't wear mask during height of COVID pandemic and was abrupt to the point of being rude. The $100 deposit was inconvenient and laughably high for this place. This room is INCREDIBLY cheap. The sign at the front desk advertising policies has duct tape over the name of a different hotel. The furniture is the rejects of other hotels that have been cast off. Half the lights didn't work, holes in the curtain, cigarette butts littered the outside area, drawers in the dresser were broken, toilet wasn't fully attached to floor and wobbled. The springs poke out of the bed, the pillows are about one inch thick, MAYBE. Stains, smells, and loud noises are the icing on the cake. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE PICTURES: nothing about my room resembled the photos used--NOTHING. I suspect they're stock images. Don't be fooled by the high reviews--they look suspicious for a reason. Everything about this motel is a lie, including the name "Hotel." BOTTOM LINE: this is the kind of motel where you don't take your socks off when walking around the room, and then you throw them away at the end of the stay.
Quiet location for the most part. $100 deposit is a little steep, but you can use cash for that if you don't want to tie up your debit or credit card. Room 105 has a microwave that doesn't work, so beware if you get that room. They have weekly rates hovering around $300 to $350/wk (as of this review).
