Radisson Blu Edwardian Kenilworth Hotel, London

Yet again I booked and paid for a Radisson blu for it not to be open and had been so called upgraded to the Mercer street. On the day of arrival I checked in online and we were allocated room 407. We arrived and our room was ready. Mercer street is in a truly beautiful location and the hotel itself is amazing. Sink in bathroom had a hole around it so the tap moved every time we used it splashing water all over the place. Duvet didn’t fit in the duvet cover properly was like a double in a king size so both nights we had to snuggle in the middle of the bed. Towel radiator didn’t work properly even though we turned it up to five only got slightly warm. The covid secure wrapped tv remote was in looked and felt dirty and certainly wasn’t in a clean condition. Dressing gowns had stains on the collar. Shame some of the guests on the same floor felt the need to slam doors and stomp feet at 3.15am waking us up. Room service took over an hour to bring drinks to the room. I feel bad that I’ve had to write this review especially as it’s the wrong hotel but I can’t write one for the Mercer street through Expedia. Monmouth restaurant is fabulous and breakfast there are plenty of choices to choose from. Saturday we chose the full English and Sunday we had the Italian. I wish I could cook poached eggs like the chef.

The room was rather pokey, very poor lighting, no bed side reading light, and claustrophobic, The window looked on to old cigarette ends and a metal ventilator. The bathroom was almost unusable as to get into the shower you had to be a contortionist or put your foot in the toilet, consequently my husband could only shave and flannel wash.

It was a weekend break and a thoroughly pleasant place to stay and a very convenient location.

Great location .. friendly staff

VIP welcome from Claudia at reception and although we arrived 2 hours before check in, we were given our room immediately which was comfortable and had everything we needed. Great location - easy walking distance to Leicester Square, Covent Garden and all the main theatres. I’d recommend Scoff and Banter for food and service and after a good night’s sleep, breakfast was excellent. Great to get Expedia VIP benefits too. We’ll definitely return.

Decent hotel, well located but rooms are small

I only stayed one night, and found it to be a nice place to stay, with a large variety of breakfast options in the free breakfast. Room is small, but I think that's normal for London. I could kind of hear the TV from the neighboring room, which was a little annoying but I've definitely been in worse. It was also a little strange that they had stairs within a floor, so after taking the lift to my floor, I still had to go up ~10 steps to get to my room. It wasn't a problem for me, but worth asking for a room that doesn't require stairs if it's a big deal for you. Overall property was in good condition. I would recommend and stay here again if I'm on another business trip.
