Residence Inn By Marriott San Antonio Airport/Alamo Heights

From other reviews i thought this would be a good stay. The walls are sooo thin. I could hear every person walk down the hall (just walking! They weren't even talking!), all of the key cards clicking to let people in to their rooms, alarms of other rooms, and of course the usual other sounds like doors closing and traffic. It was incredibly noisy and I got very little sleep for three time i was there. The staff were friendly enough and the other guests were polite and not noisy neighbors. Next time I'll stay somewhere else with the hopes of staying in a room I can sleep in.

The room was a suite, complete with full kitchem(Coffee maker, refridgerator, microwave, dishwasher, dishes, pots, silverware, etc.), 2 TVs, seperate bedroom, Nice shower, swimming pool, exercise room, continental breakfast, shuttle to airport, Not to bad of a walk to food and drink, . Great location.

The good: The grounds were nice and clean. Staff was friendly. And the breakfast was a nice bonus. I have no complaints about the hotel itself. The bad: I booked a 2 bedroom suite for my family (myself, spouse, and 2 young children). When arriving, I was told the two-bedroom suite was not available. Instead, we were given two, sepeartate 1 bedroom suites. So instead of having one bedroom room for my children and one bedroom room for my wife and I and a shared living room, we had to split up and each of us had to share a room and bed with one of our children. The purpose of the 2 bedroom suite was so we could have a living room to socialize after the children were asleep. But since we had separate rooms, the point of the suite was completely lost. I did not need to spend $175 a night to share a bed with one of my children and watch tv by myself while my wife was doing the same in another room. This was very disappointing for my first booking with Hotels.com.

Super convenient to the airport and staff was extremely helpful and just downright nice folks.

We found the 24 hour hotel shuttle to be a very valuable amenity. The drivers and the front desk staff were helpful and friendly.

It is clearly not a newer facility. I was also only there for a good eight hours and although it appeared very clean my first room had a strong smoke odor. The whole building including the second room had an older musty smell. Great location to the airport and with kids that made it nice with early departure. I will say that out of all the other reservations I pre paid for ease of travel this was the only place that didn’t attempt to charge me a second time (flight/card/bags). I don’t understand why the card on file can’t be billed the incidental deposit and then refunded after, but that is just the ocd in me when managing my finances.

Very clean and well designed. Rooms were great. Perfect for family. There is no bar and also not one within walking distance. No restaurant, but there are several food choices within walking distance.

Room was large and nice and clean. The building was nice also.

My first room smelled like smoke and had some kind of insects in it. The corridor from the second room had a really bad smell to it
