Queen Kapiolani Hotel

The room is so small. Unlike what posted online. It was different how it look like once u get there. I feel like we got tricked! Coz our room looks like a motel but for the price of 1400! Yes we have a beach view but that’s just it! As for the staff they’re all superb! Esp the parking people staff. They’re really great and helpful!

Ok I wanted this hotel to be great but unfortunately it wasn’t. Honestly, the valet/bell hop was the best part lol they were so so above and beyond always greeted us with a warm welcome and wish us safe traveles whenever we left. They answered A LOT of our questions and really made us feel like family! What a great group of guys working there! The rest of the positives belong to the view. Absolutely breathtaking view of diamond head and a little ocean we loved that. Unfortunately I have to be honest about the things I didn’t like. The Deck hotel pool bar/restaurant was bad.. wait 20-40 for a drink thumbs down. Didn’t stay to order food so can’t comment on that. I have stayed in so many hotels and I have NEVER stayed somewhere that they don’t have a coffee machine in the room or available at all. I know this seems petty but I drink coffee everyday so to pay a “resort fee” and then have to pay $9 a day on coffee at the lobby. I felt like I paid a resort fee and got nothing for it. Thats harsh to say but that’s a big reason why I wouldn’t stay here again. Maybe they could give you the option to not pay the resort fee and just bring your own towels (which we did anyway) because that’s the only thing included in the resort fee we used. All in all I couldn’t recommend this place and as beautiful as the view is I wouldn’t return because paying that resort fee was easily another fun experience I could have done or another night somewhere else(More details on Yelp)

Service was great! Best valet service I’ve had at a hotel. The 3rd floor where the pool and bar were had the most incredible view of Diamond Head. The rooms weren’t ultra modern or anything but it was clean and comfortable. I stayed in an ocean view room on the 17th floor and enjoyed having a balcony to look out at the ocean and the zoo below. We had a good stay.

Great location & great service

After 12 days in Maui and North Shore Oahu, we wrapped up our trip in Honolulu in my favorite Waikiki Hotel, the Queen Kapiolani. We had Diamond Head view room, 17th floor and our view was high-rise free. Made us imagine Honolulu 75 years ago.the staff and Deck Restaurant are great. The ground floor is open and has a great vibe. All of Waikiki is within a short walk. The valet service hummed along getting our car to us within minutes. The room was comfortable and the balcony made it seem much bigger! Loved our stay here.

What a pleasant experience! This hotel is clean and hip and at the perfect location - near the zoo and close to Diamond Head. The quiet end of Waikiki. They upgraded our room when we checked in - it was amazing. We had a junior suite with a great view. We stayed 3 nights , and I’m about to book 5 more nights for the tail end of our trip !! Lots of Aloha and Covid safe !

Overall Review: Clean place to stay with nice views and easy access to beach and restaurants. Service: No contact outside of initial check-in. Room cleaning and services are only upon request due to covid. It would have been nice to have had basic in room supplies like towels, soap, etc left outside the door for my multi-night stay without needing to make a request. Room: The room was very clean which I appreciated given Covid. The building is not new, and the room feels a bit dated. Bathroom is small. In my opinion, paying for a room with ocean view is worth it, as the views and sunsets were spectacular. Location: 1 block from the beach, easy access to food/restaurants, etc. Biki bike station is near by, so getting around Waikiki is easy. I would recommend Queen Kapiolani to a friend as an affordable hotel option, with the caveat that it is not an outstanding hotel/experience. Good value place to stay.

The hotel overall was just redone and was in good condition, and our room was very nice with an ocean view. Their premier restaurant called the Deck was overpriced and the service was awful however, even to the point where they had no record of a reservation we had made the day before. They had just reopened, so perhaps they were breaking in new staff, but there was still no reason for the awful service. At one point we waited over half an hour for a drink order. I will say the guys at the valet were excellent though, especially Kawai who offered us great suggestions for Honolulu.
