The Port Hotel & Marina - Crystal River

It was a lovely place to stop. Great place to have a drink/food from the restaurant overlooking the water. I even spotted a few manatees and then witnessed a beautiful sunset. For what I paid, I couldn't fault the room.

We choose this place for the location and we were not disappointed at all. Love it!! The Staff was super nice!! It's not perfect for everyone, but for fellow boaters or anyone looking to spend more time out doors. This is the place. We already have a week booked for the summer!!

I enjoyed The Port Hotel and Marina, While it may not be for everybody, the location is great, friendly staff and a nice casual atmosphere. The hotel brochure says Elvis Presley stayed there in 1961 while filming a movie. If it was good enough for Elvis in 1961, it certainly is good enough for me in 2013,,,,,

Due to road construction had a challenge finding the resort. Check in was quick , room was standard accommodations. Place was packed with teenagers- who were teenagers- being loud. Had to call the front desk asking they call the kids next door to quiet down after midnight - which was handled promptly. The room was clean. The air conditioning units were very loud, but if we turned the one in the bedroom off, we could hear our neighbors' conversations. There was exposed wiring in the room. The desk clerk was wonderful and recommended two restaurants that we might enjoy. We did not eat at the restaurant on property.

This is an old Florida hotel. It is not fancy, but the location and view of Crystal River is incredible.Good food and a nice bar right on the water.

The hotel was not the nicest I've ever stayed at, but the staff was more than helpful. We stayed to spend the weekend out on the river. We were given permission to leave our boat in the water at their docks. That save us tons of time loading and unloading out boat. We will defiantly be back

The young lady that checked us in was very, very nice and helpful in our search for different places for seafood, especially crab legs or claws. The water in the bay was very murky and couldn't see any manatee's. The Motel is from the 60's era and needs badly upgraded. The outside is really in need of good make over as time has taken its toll.

The hotel is in an awsome location. The rooms and hotel are run down and in bad need of a face lift inside and out. The staff was very helpful and want to thank all of them for there wonderful hospitality.

great location for kayaking... pretty view of Crystal River. hotel needs updating... paint and work..kind of rundown.. beds were very comfortable. the breakfast was just bananas, coffee, some juice, and pre-wrapped honey buns. There is a good ma and pa breakfast place down the road... a restaurant on the grounds was pretty good...open only for lunch […] and dinner... Located front of kings bay and restaurant bar on site. That was wonderful. But room was stink, bed sheets need change, bath room tab not clean and found hair, and carpet was yucky. We felt over charge for the room but if you think you don't mind paying for the location...

We were in a bldg booked for a bday party with music, beer funnels, yelling, etc directly below us.The party wound down after mdnt & was quiet in the am. We left & returned to find a comm’l grill & partiers cooking a pig in front of our bldg. They told us they had permission from mgmt to play a stereo & hook up speakers. When pig was done they moved […] below us. Music was so loud our walls were vibrating. Our friends complained & were told rest mgr would shut party down at 10 or call police at 11. We moved outside by 1st bldg for some peace & quiet. We went to office & asked if office mgr was aware. Clerk said yes - mgr told partiers to hold it down earlier. She was making notes to give to mgr in the am. We saw there were vacant rms & went back to office as clerk was hanging up phone with mgr. We asked to be moved but were told there was nothing available. Back outside rest mgr talked to us - listened, apologized & implied he was going to make things right. Eventually noise died down & we returned to our rm. Before we left Sun am, we spoke to off mgr who told us she didn’t know there was a prob. If there was, why hadn’t we talked to her on Sat? We told her that she did know. Mgr pulled out notebook & told us desk clerk had walked over to party the night before & everyone was having a good time & didn’t seem drunk. The mgr said she’d been thinking about moving us, but someone told her we didn’t want to be moved. She said if this was the only bad experience we should feel lucky. Pročitajte više

This is a nice older hotel. Located on a beautiful marina. The restaurant is fantastic and they offer live music. Very laid back atmosphere. Older building but very clean.

if you are going to see the manatees in Crystal River and are looking for an affordable place to stay, The Port Hotel & Marina is a good choice. My room overlooked the bay and the private balcony was a great place for a morning coffee or to sit and read a book as the sun went down.

I can't understand why this hotel received poor reviews from many people. We think this is a great place. It's right on the water and there are manatees that sometimes swim right up to the beach here. There is a good restaurant on the premises if you don't feel like getting back in the car. We decided to stay a week.

The hotel itself is in much needed state of repair. Rooms are smelly and old the toilet rocked every time you sat on it. The saving grace was the great view of the bay and the manatees. We all enjoyed the ae house attached to the motel. The place could be great with a little TLC.

Our room was comfortable and clean. The view of the bay was great. The ale house which is attched to the hotel has awsome food and great service. The hotel owner needs too spend some money fixing the place up. I would start with gutters.

I came to Crystal River to go Stand up Paddle boarding, and with hopes to see some Manatees. When I saw the Port Hotel, I thought this is where I want to stay. I could SUP feet away from my room. I chose the Port Hotel for its shore/marina views and proximity to the Ale House. Room was tired but still comfortable and quite large. Gorgeous views of the water, islands, marina, manatees and sunsets from the balcony. Excellent food at the Ale House - ate there all three nights. Sportsbar/pub atmosphere inside, large patio outside overlooking the […] water, and Tiki bar at the end of the dock. This is an older hotel, Rooms are not spotless,but the location is incredible. They have have a great tiki bar and the food is fantastic.Dive shop on property with boat rentals and guided tours for a reasonable price, We loved it.

Best location and staff however the room I stayed in was terribly in need of renovation and could have been cleaner. It smelled musty and overlooked the water so we were able to open front and rear doors to air it out. The a/c did not bring in fresh air and windows can't be opened. If you don't mind camping, this is a great Florida location.

Located on the water, I literally saw a manatee from my window in the first five minutes of my stay. Staff and locals incredibly friendly. Ale House food good. Tiki Bar fun for the evenings. OLD hotel, but CLEAN.

Hotel is in prime location, its location on Kings Bay and ease of access to boat ramp/manatee's are the best thing this hotel has going for it. Rooms themselves were rustic and was more like a place to crash out and sleep. There was a hole in the floor of our room which had carpet placed over it. Breakfast was rather disappointing...some crappy coffee […] and an apple. I also had a Grouper sandwich at the restaurant on the property and it wasn't very good...frozen fish. Overall, if you are just wanting a place to crash out after some diving or a day o the water then this hotel will be fine. If your looking for something more modern/upscale, then look elsewhere. We had a 1 night stay before a manatee outing near by. The hotel seems old and the rooms are run down, but clean. We ate dinner at the attached restaurant and had drinks at the pier bar. We were plesantly surprised with this hotel. While an older hotel, it was well kept, and the front desk and housekeeping staff were both pleasant and helpful. The view is incredible and the sunset view over the Refuge is stunning. We did the Manatee swim through the Marina and had a wonderful experience. Being able to get out of the wind after coming out of the water would have been wonderful. The Ale House was very convienent to have on property. The food was great and the view made for a very interesting time watching the wildlife around the Refuge. The rooms are very old and need to be updated and maintained better. Lights were out and sink was clogged. The view is amazing and is great for just a place to rest your head after a day on the water and/or visiting family.

The setting on the Crystal River is beautiful, and the grounds are spacious. There are many water activities available. Golf courses are nearby. Regrettably the buildings are long overdue for maintenance and proper housekeeping. The room rates do not reflect this. Had we known, we could have stayed elsewhere for the same rate. This is a dive hotel in every sense of the word--our room was just a few steps away from the boats for dive trips, manatee tours and excursions. It's waaay past its prime, but is actually the sort of run-down paradise that Jimmy Buffett sings about, so in some ways it's the perfect Florida experience for Buffett fans, at least those who don't need high-thread-count […] sheets and spa facials. We passed the Port on a manatee snorkeling trip, and the captain pointed it out and said that Elvis stayed there while filming "Follow That Dream." It's entirely possible that we slept on the exact same mattress as Elvis, or at least one of that vintage. We did like the layout of the room: two bedrooms with a divided bath in between, and a microwave and fridge in one bedroom. Didn't know whether to be alarmed or relieved at the array of locks on the door. The decor is Early Garage Sale (or maybe late: our wall art was a movie poster from Al Pacino's Scarface and a portrait of Kramer from Seinfeld) but the view from our patio was fantastic, and we were there for the water and the wildlife, not hotel decor. Hotel staff/owners & Ale House employees were extraordinary in their efforts to welcome you and accommodate needs, however no microwave, coffee maker or refrigerator in outdated rooms in our building. Sort of chose the hotel as an impromptu thing. Needed some relaxation time and was able to get plenty of it. Hotel staff was nice and helpful. We were left alone with zero interruptions during our 2 night stay. Room was a little outdated, but still clean. A nice little spot if you want to getaway from the real world for a few days.

The place needs to be knocked down and replaced. Staff was nice, bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean, but the carpet was bad, air conditioners (window units) were very noisy, and the buildings were in need of a complete reno.
