Al-Nakheel Hotel - Doha

The hotel is well located if you want to spend a day or two in Doha. Within walking distance of the corniche, arts museum, the souq and several other sites. Probably one of the more affordable hotels you'll find in Doha. Also the complimentary breakfast and airport pickup/drop off is a bonus!

Been going to Doha on Business for the past 5 years and wanted to try out an affordable to the West Bay area by staying in OldTown which is undergoing revitalisation. Stayed for 5 nights. The location is supreme, walking distance to the Souqs (Waqif) which boasts a lively nightlife, great cuisine and exquisite arts/handicrafts. There's also the Corniche […] Waterfront Promenade right by, available for jogging (dress conservatively) and lovely evening walks. Free breakfast was decent and the free shuttle ride to and from the airport was greatly appreciated. Unfortunately these assets do not outweigh the disadvantages of the hotel: poorly trained staff (we began to exchange greetings & smiles more easily 2 days into my stay) and poorly maintained rooms, bordering on filthy. I think I might spring the extra $200 to stay at the RamadaEncore or K108 for a longer stay and peace of mind. The place seemed to favour Pakistani/GCC business people and workers, but surely they deserve cleanliness and comfort too? I hope the manager and owner take note! Pročitajte više

Decent budget hotel, clean enough, everything worked, front desk staff helpful. Short walk to a real treat, Souq Waqif, a restored bazaar with atmosphere and wonderful cafes. Short ride from airport. One word of warning: if you're expecting an airport pickup (as they advertise) you'll need to call the hotel in advance and arrange that. I found out the […] hard way there was no car waiting for me! You can't beat the price and location of this hotel. Its easy to get taxi's and everything is less than a $10 ride away. Malls, airport, etc. Alcohol serving hotels are close as well. The room was a little run down but the bedding and towels were new and clean.

Friendly staff; great location close to Souk Wadif; a full breakfast buffet (but instant coffee!); and a strong shower with plenty of hot water. And a pick-up at the airport! A great place to hang your hat in Doha.

The location is great (very close to shopping). I had even gotten an email response before I got there stating that I could do a very late checkout for no additional cost. The room has not been renovated for many years and it shows. But the worst part for us occured when we were heading to the airport. This hotel provides a free service. When we arrived, […] we scheduled for a ride at 5:30pm. I confirmed it again after breakfast that morning. Then at 4:20pm I got a call in my room saying that the driver would be on another call and would be available at 5pm or 6pm. So they accepted my reservation first (twice) and then decided that someone else was more important. After much back and forth on the phone they finally paid for a taxi ride for us. Hotel is good value for money, so do not expect a great service. A/C was not working, so they supplied us with a new room. We had to chase after them to clean room. Breakfast is standard. Souk Waqef only 5-10 mins walk.

Very convenient location, friendly staff and helpful, free internet. Rooms are very basic and I had shortage of hot water in shower. Nonetheless, for a no frills business stay its perfectly good.

The are at least two reasons for this. The main reason is the hotel staff, they are polite, helpful and do a good job in making you feel welcome (actually so do every one you meet in Qatar, […] wonderful people). Another reason is the location of the hotel. Close to souqs, corniche, well basically close to the almost everything of interest to a tourist in town for a few days. And if some attractions are not in walking distance of the hotel, going by taxi in Qatar certainly won't ruin you. However, watch out when going by taxi. The official taxis have to be told to go on meter (I was even thrown out of taxi for insisting on going by meter!!!!) and the unofficial taxis (waiting outside arrivals terminal in Doha Airport like vultures :-) ) overcharge and if you don't watch out you will end up paying more than for an official taxi. An official taxi from the airport to Al Nakheel will cost you roughly 30 Riyal ($US 9). However, the hotel has a complimentary shuttle bus service. On arrival I couldn't find it, so contact the hotel in advance and ask them to pick you up on arrival. The complimentary shuttle bus service and breakfast being included in the room price makes this an excellent choice in my opinion for the traveller, who goes to Qatar to experience Qatar and not the hotel room and who wants value for (not too much) money. The hotel was very well situated close to the souk, old town and corniche. The staff were extremely curteous and helpful and the hotel was pleasant and clean. I would definately recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a decent 3 star hotel at a good price, if you want luxury and top class amenities and services then there are many hotels to choose from at much higher prices. The Hotel is generally good for non-business travel. Even it is ok for business travel but short stay. The location is quite convenient as it as near to mosque, eating areas and basic shopping. When asked for taxi, the bell boy called his network friend and the taxi (white color taxi) charged flat rate which was higher than the normal metered taxi (green color taxi) about 30%. Exellent hotel. Not luxury but a lot of value for money. Perfect location mınutes walk from the souk. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. Only downside and BEWARE. this is not going to be your honeymoon hotel, but if you need one close to the old souk where you are all day out and go only to shower and sleep and you're on tight budget this might be an option. Staff, at that time, was friendly and brekfast was OK.

Für eine Nacht war es gerade noch so hinnehmbar. Das Zimmer war alt und abgewohnt. Wurde aber dafür mit reichlich Kunstblumen dekoriert. Das Bad hätte auch dringend eine Renovierung nötig. Internet kostenlos, aber sehr langsam. Frühstück war in Ordnung. Gut war der kostenlose Shuttle zum Flughafen. Und gut war auch der kurze Fussweg zum Souq Waqif. […] Wir würden beim nächsten Aufenthalt in Doha ein höherpreisiges Hotel bevorzugen. Dieses Hotel hat seine drei Sterne nicht verdient. 10 mins walk from al Corniche and the museum, 3 mins to the restaurants at al Shouq Waqif and in a charming part of Doha this hotel is placed perfectly for leisure. The staff were really nice people and professional. They arranged a free personal airport shuttle. Nice breakfast buffet. The room couldn't match these standards. It was rather worn down, […] the aircondition was noisy and placed so you would get a cold, the tv had bad tuning, there were to major security breaches (the door to the balcony couldn't be locked and there were a little door in the bathroom were you could look in to the neighbour). For mig klart det bedste område af Doha at bo i, da det er tæt på den gamle del af byen, og Souq Waqif, hvor det lokale aftenliv udspiller sig med masser af gode restauranter, butikker mv. En ok morgenmad.
