This is an old facility with a cosmetic upgrade. Even though downtown was just 5-10 minutes away, the location is in a dark area. Very close to DHMC and Hanover a plus. Smoke free room was not. Bed was rock hard. Truck parked right in front of my door and idled their engine for full half hour at 5:30 AM. I stayed here in Jan. when it was freezing cold. Temperature setting could only go up to 70 max. There was a huge draft through the door and windows so it was freezing cold. The curtains would not shut all the way so people could see from the outside. Everything was uncomfortable. I have stayed at budget hotels many many times before and this has to […] be the most uncomfortable place. The most uncomfortable part was the hotel owner/manager was very creepy and unfriendly. "Great location for sleeping over- not much else."
Building and rooms are older but kept up nice. Shower was pretty dirty but the rest of the room was fine. No coffee in the room and breakfast was poor even for a continental breakfast, but good value overall. I usually stay in 3-stars and thought I'd try saving some money. This hotel was sanitary enough, and beds were comfortable - BUT the room was 57 degrees all night and the heat control did nothing. "Would stay there again."
Staff was great and very responsive. Room was immaculate. They seem to be in process of upgrading. So new carpet, wallpaper, furniture, old bedspread. Shower is small- no tub. The bed was very very firm which I like but isn't perhaps for everyone. Not fancy but had mini fridge, microwave and good tv. Stayed warm on cold nights. There were a couple of things which bothered me. One, the hotel was supposedly on South Main Street, West Lebanon, actually it appeared to be on Hanover Road whether Hanover or W. Lebanon I don't know, but it certainly led me astray in finding the place. The motel is definitely not fancy, and the rooms are poorly lighted. It was difficult to read at […] night, but it was spotlessly clean. The proprietress was friendly and helpful, but the sheet which she handed out re restaurants was so poorly copied it was completely unreadable I eventually found some where to eat, but it was not the easiest procedure for a stranger to the area. The continental breakfast was very good and they even had a gadget for making waffles and had real maple syrup to pour over them! That was a very nice touch. We had no major complaints. This place isn't the Hanover Inn, nor does it pretend to be. The staff were friendly, for the most part. One fellow got a bit surly when we inquired about a room change and whether any senior-citizen travel discounts applied. The room was as clean as could be for the repair it was in. The bathroom was the worst part with no sideboard and a shower stall so small that you couldn't even bend over to wash your feet!
