we dicided to book somerset because it is near the station, restaurant and ampang Plaza. It is also 15mins walk to KLCC Petronas. Dining, living and bedroom were clean and the view of Genting Highlands is wonderful except the extremely unpleasant smell coming out from the drainage. It's awful.

The apartment was spotlessly clean, spacious and had a nice modern decor. No problems encountered during my weeklong stay. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment which looked exactly like the photos on the website. Just gorgeous. Only two negative points which held me back from giving this hotel a score of 5. The first is the bad smell coming from the drains. The second is the restaurant downstairs. It was rank. The door to the kitchen was left open and I can only describe it as […] disgusting. Looked like it needed a good scrub. Hotel staff were very pleasant but lacked initiative. Dont expect any local tips on where to eat or visit. The pool is beautiful but can get busy in the late afternoon. If you want some quiet time best to go in the morning but you should check when they close for cleaning. There is also a small children's pool which they dont show any pictures of. Great if you have toddlers. If you've never been to KL you should know that there are 2 types of taxis. One is a budget taxi (Red) and the other a premium taxi (Blue). The premium taxi starts the meter at 6MYR, much more than the budget. The hotel wont tell you this but they only call the premium taxi service (the blue ones). Overall a great place to stay that could be made even better with some small changes. Pročitajte više

We found the hotel of good quality with staff at all levels very polite and helpful. The standard of care and cleanliness was very good. Although we did not cook anything in the kitchenette it was fully equipped including the microwave, toaster, washer/dryer, fridgefreezer,electric hob tec. The hotel runs a shuttle 2 to 3 times a day to the shopping malls including the Petronas Twin Towers. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the Twin Towers complex. This hotel apartment is one railway station from KLCC. It has good facilities, i.e. Gym, rooftop swimming pool and staff are friendly and helpful. I stayed at this place for over 9 days with my family and noticed that the front desk staff lacks on few hospitality skills, we weren't welcomed warmly enough or gotten assisted in any extra ordinary way to meet that unmatched customer experience. Included breakfast was an average continental styled however their freshly made to order eggs, bread and brewed coffee was amazing. I found it to be really inconvenient to make multiple followups to get things done from the front desk which sometimes resulted in no show ups. In general, hotel location and check in-out is great. the staff were very welcoming up until the day we left.On the last day we were able to stay near the pool and lounge until 8pm even though checkout was at 12.The restaurant,souled out,next door was ok for breakfast and excellent for lunch and dinner or drinks at night.would deffinately stay there again.ten minute walk to petronas towers

Hotel location is good. Quality of services and cleanliness are proper. Receiption stuff are not train well to deal with gusts and sometimes they are not even polite. Swimming pool is very simple and not as you expect. Hotel online service is very slow and one day was disconnected. No variety in the TV channels.

Somerset Ampang is a very new Hotel/Residence and so is in excellent condition. We stayed in an Executive apartment which was only a few dollars extra a night, we were on the 20th floor. The room was very clean and modern with excellent furnishings and amenities. TV in lounge and bedroom, great bathroom with nice bath and shower. The kitchen area was […] quite large and had everything you would need to cook a small meal for 2 or 3 people (I am sure they would send up more cutlery/crockery if you wanted it) There was a large fridge freezer and a washing machine as well. 2 bottles of complimentary water every day. Bed was large, a bit firm but had excellent linen and pillows. We asked for a cot for our 6 month baby and it was waiting for us in the bedroom. It was fitted out with all sorts of blankets/pillows/edging which we removed for SIDS reasons, but it was a nice thought. Views from our room were OK, the Petronas Towers are at the side of the hotel so cant be seen from the rooms, but go to the rooftop pool area and you get a good view of the top third of the towers. The pool area is very nice. Pool is outdoor and about 28 degrees. there is also a childs area with fountains and a 12 inch deep pool for little ones. A small gym with modern equipment and a nice lounge to relax in. Staff were very helpful and polite. Check in/out was perfect and you can store luggage for later collection if you like. Hotel is great for families or long term visitors. The room has everything needed and is more like a furnished apartment. Kitchen includes dishes and utensils. Built in washer/dryer located in kitchen. Bedroom and sitting room includes LCD TV and DVD player. Room has Ipod dock. Hotel has roof top pool, jacuzzi, and exercise room.

It is on a very busy road (Jalan Ampang) which can make driving a bit tricky and frustrating but otherwise, it is close to an LRT station (an easy 5mins walk) and the shuttle service they run to KLCC and Pavillion shopping centres is a big help. The only issue we had was the inconsiderate smokers. Someone on our floor was smoking, which stank out the corridors and some smoke also could be smelt from our room. We were not on a smoking floor. This is a great place to stay. I have never rated a hotel as highly but in truth could find very little fault. Like other hotels they offered an upgrade so we went from 1 bedroom to an executive 1 bedroom with great views. Plenty of space and much consideration to detail within them. Breakfast was well put together without being overly creative. The only negative for us was the pool on highest floor which had no shade and as a very fair skinned person this didn't allow for long relaxation, but the views from the pool were tremendous and we didn't spend long there. Location - while a bit out of the main city there was a station with 10 minutes walk, but do watch those taxis who won't use the meter, usually they will charge double meter costs. We stayed here for 4 days, partly for business and partly to meet some family who lives here. Overall experience with the hotel staff is good. They are very attentive to most requests. We wanted to extend our check out to a late check out but they were unable to let us know until the day itself, although i had requested it on the day we checked in. […] I understand that they might get filled up but at least let us know so we could plan ahead. Instead we were told that we could change and take showers on the 22nd floor where the pool was in exchange for a late check out. Weird. Another unfortunate incident was with the hired taxi service through the hotel. We had requested a taxi the night before with the front desk and specifically ask to be taken to Technology Park with the address written down. Upon getting into the blue 'superior' taxi, the driver did not know where it is and ask us where to go.. I understand KL is a big city but the front desk should have made sure that the taxi driver knows where to go especially when we had a set appointment and paid premium. We had to call our client's office to have the receptionist tell the driver where to go. Even after the explanation, the driver still was not sure where to go. 45 mins into the drive and 20 mins late, we got there. It was the worse experience I have ever had with a hired taxi from any hotel. Overall great stay. Our washing machine/dryer was not working and they were on it in 5 mins upon called. Pročitajte više

We had a great expereince at Somerset Ampang. The staff were friendly the rooms were clean and serviced daily. Communial areas were spotless and very inviting. The only downside would be the location. KLCCに地下鉄で駅1つです。周辺には各国政府の大使館等があります。部屋は清潔でした。プールも眺めが良く、気持ちよい。サービスも良好です。朝食は付帯するレストランでとなりますが、、バイキングで軽食の感じです。

My husband and I stayed in there for 3 nights. We booked a one bedroom apartment and was upgraded to an apartment with two rooms. The second one did not have any windows, so we used it as a walk-in closet. Our apartment was on the high floor facing the Ampang area. The hotel is away from the city centre and we need to take a taxi everytime we went out (the hotel shuttle only operated at certain hours of the day). It is true that the Ampang Park LRT station was only a 15-minute walk away. However, it is quite unpleasant to walk along the busy Jalan Ampang and especially under the hot sun. Breakfast was provided at an outdoor cafe next door. The choice of food was not great but it was adequate for the purpose. het verblijf was zeer de moeite waard. Wij waren met z'n drieen en ieder had een eigen slaapkamer. hierdoor had je wel de privacy, maar gelijk ook de gezelligheid van 1 living. het zwembad op het dak was helemaal top. je hebt daarvandaan uitzicht op de Petronas tower en kijkt vanaf je ligbedje zo over een groot stuk van KUL heen.
