Hotel Fort Canning - Singapur

I was very much satisfied with the hotel where I stayed. It was a wonderful experience staying there. The only suggestion I have is for the hotel to add few vegetarian dishes to their menu!

Stayed at Fort Canning for 5 days and really couldn't fault the hotel. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Very up to date with iPod docks and electric everything! Interesting set up with the open bathroom at the front of the room but gave a great view in the shower! Was worried the hotel would be out of the way but is a ten minute stroll from Dhoby Ghaut MTR so right at the start of Orchard Road and at one of the major MTR interchanges so everywhere is close. The hotel itself ws lovely, with excelent service and amenities. For an American traveler, accustomed as we are to larger rooms, the room itself was quite small. the large and lavish bathroom was a very pleasant susrprise.

The hotel is in a great position for a fascinating ramble though old Fort Canning. The hotel desk were not very informed about the local features - they could have had a small map or guide to the best sites. I was surprised they did not promote this unique aspect more. Reception was friendly and efficient. The room was fine. Took some playing around to get the blinds and the lights to work as required. Although very close to Dhoby Ghaut tube station, there are 133 steps to climb up on the way back! Overall pretty good.

The room was not very well kept / clean. The hair-dryer was missing from the drawer in the toilet and the drawer itself was dirty and dusty. The floor was also not very well cleaned. However, bed / pillows were very comfortable. The Italian restuarant Gattopardo has great, fresh seafood!

The hotel staff were mostly polite and helpful in getting us a taxi when we departed and the rooms were clean and fresh when we first stepped in so that was very impressive. But the only thing is the disappointing toiletries - they looked so plain and simple in such a lovely boutique hotel! Location is bit off too..

Gorgeous hotel. Very modern and well-designed. Big rooms with very comfortable beds and particularly huge bathrooms, all of which have great windows overlooking the city or the park. There are definitely a few small signs of a lack of 100% perfect cleanliness around the room and hotel itself, but nothing that was particularly concerning (i.e., small […] stains on the wall or the window curtains in the bathroom). Hotel staff is very helpful, and the breakfast buffet was pretty good. Note that it's definitely a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, though I found that a good thing. The rooms and hotel's overall lay-out and setting was of course very lean and well-maintained, the location of the hotel was great in a way that it made you feel like you were in a secluded resort away from the city while you're still not too far from it either! Don't know whether that's a good or bad thing..

Booked a 1 night stay with my wife on Valentine's day. overall, the experience was very good except for 2 things. 1) I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to attend to me at the check in counter when there were only 2 guests checking in and 2 checkin desks. only 1 desk was manned and I was made to wait though there was no crowd. however, the front desk […] managed to upgrade me to a junior suite as they did not have the premium room i had booked available. this saved the day. 2) the room was very nice and plush. i had a room which faced the swimming pool and had direct access to the pool. however, there was little privacy if you leave the blinds drawn as the glass sliding doors offered a clear view of the interior of the room from the poolside. as a result, i had to keep the blinds drawn and the doors closed. this negated any sense of romance that the room could offer. i would not pay to stay in a room like this with no privacy, and where everything that goes on in the room was available in full view of those outside. management needs to install privacy filters or 2 way mirrors inplace of the existing glass doors so that guests in the rooms can actually enjoy the romantic ambience the room has to offer... Myself and a friend recently stayed at Hotel Fort Canning. We exteneded our stay to eight nights after the initial four. The hotel is situated in beautiful garden surroundings. On arrival the hotel staff where more than accomodating and extremely curtious. Rooms where very elegant with beautiful marbel. We loved our stay here - five nights - and loved getting back to the hotel after a busy day/night out in Singapore. The staff were very friendly, the room very modern and comfortable. Although not located right next to an MRT the short walk was well worth the benefit of being in beautiful, peaceful surroundings away from the city. The pool(s) were great […] and the club and gym was fantastic on our last day when we had 12 hours to kill after checking out. The only minor criticism would be that there were at times not enough pool loungers, but that was it. Everything else was fantastic. We were surprised that the hotel cleaning staff never seemed to wish anyone a good morning or evening. Something we are used to in Dubai (where we live). I only ate breakfast in the hotel and the staff were attentive and brought everything promptly whenever I asked. The hotel is a little out of the way with a small hike to get up the Fort Canning Park hill. We stayed at HFC for four nights and found it an all-round excellent experience. The location is quiet (in the Fort Canning Park) but still only a short walk to MRT stations and attractions such as Orchard Road and Clarke Quay. Our room was a good size, overlooking the park, the bed was very comfortable, shower (with monsoon-type shower head) and bath […] tub clean and modern. There was some high-tech equipment to manage the air conditioning, lights and blinds, and a bedside ipod docking station. Minibar was the standard, but there was also a nespresso coffee machine. The complimentary breakfast was quite comprehensive. Other inclusions were free wifi internet (many hotels in Singapore charge for this) and complimentary "happy hour" with drinks and snacks between 6 and 8pm. We were impressed with the polite and friendly staff, the smooth check-in and the quick response from housekeeping to our requests, and the complimentary late check-out.
