A classis motor inn and a nice change from chain hotels. Parking right at the door of the room so very handicapped accessible.

We stayed a one night on a "drive through" trip. It is located about 2 miles off I 39 but easy to find. (Note for late arrivers: the front door to the lobby and registration desk was locked, and you have to "buzz" to be let in. It was answered almost immediately.) Night attendant was friendly and helpful. The motel is older and looks to have been renovated […] about 3-5 years ago. Room was bigger than expected and very clean. There was a small work desk and wifi which we did not use. The two chairs were comfortable but you could not watch TV from them as the TV cabinet was at the far side of the room. Especially nice was the seperate bath and dressing/makeup room facilitated getting ready in the morning. Room had a small refridgerator and microwave. Room was very nice, overall. Room climate control worked well and was fairly quiet. Bed linens had a slight smell of chlorine, which is better than smelling stale or dirty. Bed was OK for me but my wife found it too hard. A free "continental breakfast" is provided, but it is all carbs: 3 types of mini donuts, mini bagels, 3 types of cereal. Again, OK for me, but nothing except the coffee if you are diabetic, as is my wife. Some fruit or yogart would be nice for those who shouldn't eat all those carbs. But, for the price, it was adequate. If you are wanting a clean, quiet, safe place to overnight in Rockford for a very reasonable price, Alpine Inn is a good choice. We would stay there again. This is a no frills experience motel. However, it's a really good one. No pillowtop mattresses or hairdryers or coffeemakers in the room, but hairdryer and clock radio is available on request from the front desk. Rooms have a mini fridge and a microwave. And the room was completely, spotlessly clean. Breakfast was minimal - bagels, english muffins, […] other muffins, cereal, coffee, juice -- but it was fresh and tasty and the breakfast area is quite nice and inviting. Well-run and maintained; clean. No shampoo in room, sparse breakfast, but good value for the price range. I would stay there again.

This was a very pleasant stay. The hotel was clean and the rooms were comfortable. The staff was friendly. For the money it was perfect.

It was the worst hotel i have ever stayed at couldnt even sleep there . smells dirty and on line pictures misleading . will never go back . trash bags outside room remote didnt work

this is an old tired motel, but has a good location....as compared to other motels, this one was at best average....old beds and linens, no amenities--ie, had to request shampoo and a hair dryer because they "are trying to keep costs down"...and a front desk person who resides in Rockford but knew practically nothing about Rockford...their sign says […] trying "to exceed customer satisfaction" needs backing wih training...on chec king in, I was asked how I was going to pay...I had already handed my confirmation to the desk clerk from Hotels.com indicating prepaid, which seemed to confuse her....air conditioning had a mind of its own--was set at 60 degrees (was nearly 100 outside) but only had the room around 80--even when running on auto!...Tv was about 24 inches and very old....so, for the rating of Hotels.com at 2 is actually correct...customer ratings are too high.... Only problem we had was the air conditioner wasn't working very efficiently. Had to set the temp to 60 just to get it to go on and then it still didn't cool very well. Warm night of sleeping. Continental breakfast is lacking. Carbs, carbs, carbs. McDonalds is nearby so that's where we went.

. . . do we really need the sheets and towels to smell like chlorine bleach? The room was pleasant enough and the facility clearly aging but fairly well-maintained. We were there for a single night and needed a clean, secure, and reasonably-priced place to stay. Alpine Inn fit the bill nicely.

It wasn't very nice, rather dingy, but it was adequate, clean and comfortable enough. We didn't have any towels and had to call the office. We got charged twice because they charged us again when we checked in (at a much lower price than we booked, which was strange). They said they would take care of it right away when we asked Hotels.com. about it. […] The breakfast was very minimal and even more disappointing was the place across the street mentioned by another guest wasn't even open on a Saturday morning! no soap, no shampoo, no iron, no ironing board, and all the hookers you need. What more needs to be said. Hotels,com should be embarresd that they would have a dump like this on its website. I didn't expect the Taj Mahal for a few bucks a night, but i also didn't expect to have hypothermea walking into the room.

The room was clean with a comfortable bed. The continental breakfast was what you would expect for this kind of motel and it was adequate. The location was near my destination, so the convenience was another reason to be pleased with the motel. Overall, it was a comfortable stay at a reasonable cost. I will probably return in the future.

There's no iron, no hairdryer, no shampoo, no clock-radio. If you keep this in mind, the place was clean enough, freshly painted, in a good location, quite solid (quiet.) Serviceable for a night or two.

This private hotel had warmth from the staff that you would find at a larger resort style hotel. Very friendly and accomodating. The room was spotless, and the only concern was that the bed was a bit sub-par, but, I wasn't expecting too much. Overall, it was an excellent value.

Sports tournament in Rockford filled all our usual hotels so we stayed here out of desperation and were pleasantly surprsied! Nothing fancy, but clean, recently updated and very inexpensive. The breakfast in the morning was OK but the place across the street, Aunt Mary's, was GREAT!!! They had a bakery in the back that was FANTASTIC!

I found the Alpine a good value for the price. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Location near the airport and price were the reasons I chose this motel and it worked well.
