I was at the Citadines Bourke, Melb for 2 nights 3 days in Aug 2011. It was a most comforatble and enjoyable stay. Front desk staff were very helpful with helping in to do airline check-in, loan of adaptor plus directing me to the theatre and eateries. Great spot on bourke st, only 2 blocks to the mall and right next to the yummy delights of China town. Clean and inviting, small apartment style rooms that are perfect for quick Melbourne breaks.

Modern and clean suite hotel sited unobtrusively in Bourke Street near Russell Street. Handy to China Town, Greek quarter and good restaurants. Overall a good experience and good value. Pleasant and helpful staff.

Hotel was very Central, Staff very helpfull, and room very clean and modern. We had a great weekend.

My friend and I just had our weekend away in Melbourne. Citadines on Bourke was just perfect for us. Location great, we could walk to absoultly everything. Great place to stay if you're a footy fan like us, Nice to stay in a fresh, clean Motel.. Room was excellent and parking was easy too.

We chose this hotel because there were 3 people staying in the one room, each with separate beds and we couldn't afford an apartment. We stayed in room 1010. There was a queen bed (which I think was two singles pushed together), a rollaway bed and a couch. All of them comfy which I was surprised with (I had the rollaway). If you like a large shower […] this room definitely had it. It could've fit a bath in there. Nice and warm too. The only strange thing was that the basin was in the main room not the bathroom which was a bit annoying if you had to get up in the middle of the night and didn't want to wake your roommates by turning on the light. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could need and no minibar to get in the way. The view was mainly only the rooftops of other buildings but with the floor to ceiling windows it opened the room up more. There was a cute sliding glass door between the main bed and couch to give a little privacy. The room could've had a bit better cleaning beforehand as there was still gum wrappers in the bin when we first checked in. Also the lock to the bathroom was coming lose but didn't cause a problem for us. There was a tram stop outside and the free circle tram was 5 mins walk away. Check in was dragged out a bit as our room wasn't ready but check out was quick. Overall, I liked it here and would definitely consider it again. Pročitajte više

Great location, very clean, comfortable and modern hotel. The hotel messed up our reservation putting us in a room we didn't reserve due to a grp booking) but did end up sorting things out (with a little encouragement).

This motel was close to everything, it was easy enough to walk to most places within the City. Being self contained assisted with the longer stay as it was not always necessary to buy meals. The gym was great and up to date equipment had me there every day. It just would have been nice to access free wifi. On arrival the staff gave us a map of the city which included advertisements for prostitution services. Even though this may be legal in Melbourne, it is still offensive and incredibly inappropriate for a hotel that has children staying in it. The "king" bed was two singles pushed together and immensely uncomfortable. One of the worst beds I have ever […] slept in, and that includes many youth hostels. The room was clean and modern, the curtains did a good job of blocking the light but the room was a little noisy and STANK like smoke, which was constantly coming through the air vents (bare in mind, smoking is illegal in hotels in Victoria) and in the hallways. The management said they would "check the situation out", but given that other guests have also complained they seem to not have done anything about it, and I would question whether their smoke detectors are working. In addition, the shower went hot and cold to the extent that I would not put a child in it for the high risk of getting burned. Once we complained to the staff, we were moved to a Queen room on a different floor. The bed there was great, there was no smoke and it was lovely and quiet. Even the shower was better! Based on the first two days of my stay I wouldn't recommend the hotel to anyone, but based on the last two we thought it was great. My advice is to complain and ask to be moved if anything is bothering you. With a tram at your doorstep, the location is convenient to just about anything. There are heaps of restaurants around, so despite the good kitchen facilities we ate out every lunch and dinner (Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Italian, Mexican... you name it, it's here). Really enjoyed my stay here!! The room are spacious, modern and well presented. The location is great and always easy to obtain a cab! All staff were very lovely and hospitable!

Great apartment stay in the heart of Melbourne. Beautiful interior well equipped with all you need. Tram stop outside the door and walking distance to all major attractions. Great bed and very quiet. great location, friendly staff. Spotlessly clean room, fantastic amenities, including great gym and fabulous pool. Although I didn't need it, I thought car parking priced at $30 per day a bit steep. Would definitely go again and use the public transport right at the front door.

We stayed at Citadines for 4 nights and had a great stay. The hotel is in an excellent location and very close some of the great bars and restaurants Melbourne has to offer. If you want to be centrally located so you can explore on foot or by trams this then is a great option, and great value. Price per night was (reasonably) good, but i couldn't get my bed sheets changed..., during the 9 days of my stay!...

We went to the Comedy Festival so wanted something close to Flinders Lane. This was a great place to stay. Exceptionally clean and well appointed rooms. From kitchenette to shower. Enough room for 3 comfortably and the staff were on the ball, helpful and friendly. No mucking around. We would definately stay there again

Staff were very friendly and always obliging. Hotel being new is still nice and fresh and our room was everything we expected. The Studio room contained everything we wanted for our stay including cooking facilities which surprised us. We had a very comfortable stay. One block to Swanston Street so we never had to use transport and could walk everywhere. We […] would definitely stay at the Citadines again. On check out we noticed that there was a couple sleeping in the reception area. The male had dreadlocks and the female was all curled up on one of the sofas. We were waiting for the skyline bus to take us back to the Southern Cross Railway so were sitting in the reception area for about 20 minutes. We felt this was a bit out of character for a hotel of the Citadines' standard to allow people to sleep in the reception area. It made the receiption area look like a backpackers hotel. On leaving we mentioned this to a member of staff and they assured us that these two people were shortly going to be asked to leave. Explanation provided was that the couple were sharing a room with friends and as only 2 keys are issued to each room, they couldn't get access to the room (friends must have been deep sleepers). Had a bad experience in a backpackers in Sydney, so decided to book a hotel in Melbourne instead. Possibly the most comfortable hotel I've stayed in. Perfect location for all the main sites and the views from the room were incredible. Highly recommended.

The staff on the front desk were extremely helpful and really pleasant. The rooms were spacious and airy. The location was perfect for those just wanting to explore Melbourne. Tram stations were just outside the door making all the sights easy to get to. Our stay was fantastic and will definately be returning to Citadines on Bourke.

This new apart' hotel has all features that travellers need. The helpful, friendly staff, room design and kitchen facilities all help to make a city stay enjoyable.

Enjoyed stay here, as couldn't fault anything. Staff were polite & helpful, location was handy - 2 blocks from Bourke St Mall, 1 block from theatre we went to - and swimming pool was great. Would definitely look to stay there again - just, as always, depends on deals going at the time at different hotels.

Great location of hotel. Extremely surprising to get a mini apartment that was clean and contemporary. I would definitely book this hotel again especially if I was there for a longer stay. Booked the hotel through hotels.com for three guests (2 beds). Upon check in I was infomed that the second bed was going to be an additional nightly charge even though I had booked the specific room and paid the rate for it through hotels. Was treated very rudely by the staff at check in. When I first walked into the hotel I had a good impression as […] it looks very nice and the rooms are nice and new as well. This ended quickly though; the rooms were very inadequately cleaned; washcloths and handtowels were never replineshed and even with repeated requests for three towels (there were three of us in the room) we never got more than two towels our entire stay. I left the hotel late one day because I had work to do (at 1:00PM); the house keeping staff was still working and when I came back at 7:30 that evening they had put a note under my door at 2:30 in the afternoon informing me they were not going to clean my room. I went to get this remedied (this would be the 2nd day in a row without my room being cleaned) and was told that if I wanted it cleaned I should have informed the housekeeper in charge of cleaning my room! So if you like a clean room, at the agreed upon price, with enough towels for your guests this is not the place to stay! The only saving grace for the hotel is that the fitness center was nice, the beds are comfortable and the location is good. I personally would never stay here again since it was a pretty horrid experience for the most part. It's possible that the hotel will improve over time since it is a newer hotel and they may be working kinks out but in the meantime I wouldn't reccomend staying here. Pročitajte više

I had a good experience staying at Citadines. The hotel is centrally located and you can easily walk around the city, and a tram station is located right outside the hotel too. The surrounding feels safe if you are walking back at night. The hotel itself was quite nice; it still looked/felt relative new. The staff were nice and helpful too. Had three nights in Melbourne and decided to try out this apartment-hotel. Rooms are brand new - probably the first to stay in this particular room given that Citadines has only been open a couple of months at most. Fantastic location, pool + gym + sauna for those interested and with facilities in room giving options to grab some food from the Queen […] Victoria Markets or hit the streets for food. Only minus is the absence of a bar/restaurant. Although I believe this is coming. Plenty of places locally and other hotels however.

The place is very convenient to everything. Very close to most of the place! Close to restaurants, fast food and even to a grocery store so you can always cook back in your suite. Definitely recommend again.

Great location, with excellant restuarants and coffee shops just outside the doors. The room and hotel were clean, and hte staff very friendly. The parking is a little weird, I am not used to having to pay $30 per night to park my car. Its a busy area with a lot going on.
