As a female traveling alone I needed a safe place to stay. Irma did that and more. Irma Hotel was a safe, clean, well located hotel in Zihua. This was my first trip to Mexico and I wanted a 10 day of peace and yet FUN time. I found that through the wonderful Diego and Jaime at the front desk. Hotel Irma is located in La Madera beach and for me that […] was the downside and the reason I am not giving it the 5 starts. The pool area makes is for the lack of clean safe beach. I saw people swimming at the beach but to be honest, it looks dirty with trash and dark sand and smells. Locals are making an effort to keep the beach clean but this will take time. In brief: If you are ok without a beach and don't mind just staying at the pool this place is for you. As a matter of fact, now I realize this Irma Hotel is great for family with kids. There are two pools with the most amazing views. I LOVE the staff, the food at the restaurant and the pool area. Don't miss the infinity jacuzzi hidden above the restaurant with a 360 view. I moved to Catalina Resort in La Ropa and I am still here with a great view and clean sandy beach. HEAVEN. Very safe here. I went to Mexico City by bus and now back. Safe! Every year my son and I go to Zihuatanejo for his birthday to fish. We have stayed 2 times at the hotel Irma and can say it is for our needs the perfect place, quite and away from most tourist mobs. We like the beautiful view of the bay and have only good things to say. The staff is extremely friendly and makes everybody feel like at a second home. […] I will definitely return each and every year to hotel Irma unless things change. The management is local and as well very friendly the owner remembered us after 12 month from our last visit. All in all cudos hotel Irma keep up the good work. For individuals with physical issues like wheel chairs or physical weakness this might not be a good place it is a rather long walk along the beautiful coast unless you move in cabs that are available in the hotel front. Overall a very nice hotel. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, close to town, close to beaches. The hotel was great. The rooms were pretty basic, however because we did not spend much time in the hotel room it was all that we needed. Great views, the food was good, and the pools were great. Close to the main beach too.

The staff at Hotel Irma are very friendly but he breakfast had too many dishes smothered in hot sauce and not enough choices without it. The happy hour drinks were rather average. We like the hotel - it was our second stay there but we got tired of the hike up the hill and the number of steps to get to the beach. We ended up moving to Villa Mexicana for […] the last three nights of our trip. Villa Mex. is right on beach level. It was much noisier during the day time and the staff were much more aloof and the view was not as good as at Hotel Irma but the drinks were much better. The food was about the same. As far as Hotel Irma goes, I think it is the best value for money in Zihuatenajo. We will probably go back there again. It is in walking distance to Ruffos -, our favorite restaurant in Zihua. We have stayed at Irma three times. The only improvement would be to have Internet service in the rooms instead of just the lobby area. Even in the lobby it is very illusive. Also, it would be nice to have small refrigerators in the rooms instead of just coolers.

We are on a car trip around Mexico and spent a day / night at the Hotel Irma. Difficult to find until I had a taxi lead us to the property. Nothing bad to say at all. Breakfast was included and it was anything on the menu. The infinity pool and view of the bay is incredible

This is our 3rd stay at Irma, and would definitely stay there again. One thing I would like to see is a mini fridge and coffee pot in the room, even though they have complimentary coffee between 7:30 and 8 AM, which doesn't do us early risers any good. We were vacationing in Troncones and circumstances required an extra night in zihuatinejo. A quick look on hotels.com and we booked the hotel Irma, with breakfast included. Location was great, with an incredible view of the bay. Our room was a little spartan with a shared balcony, but it was perfect for a quick overnight in zihua.

Better do not stay there. Ugly rooms, unfriendly staff, horrible breakfast, dirty beach 30 meters downstairs. Need more info? Ok. The door to the bathroom is actually half a door 1.5 meter heigh - you can see and smell what is happening in there. The cleaner never brings fresh towels you have to go/call/find the yourself. Everything was superb at Hotel Irma. Many upgrades has been completed. As for me I normally stay at the Villa Mexicana where it is not as congested. Erica, did a very nice job setting up my transfer to the Villa Mex after a 6 days stay at Hotel Irma. Total time stayed in Zihuatanejo was two weeks. Job well done at Hotel Irma. A+

Older hotel but well kept. Great location and nice pool. Great value. Room was a little small but had great view and quiet AC that worked. Good food. Will stay again ... Good for stays of 5 days or less due to closeness of quarters. Very friendly and helpful staff. Many repeat quests and I understand why. Recommend Dave from Surrey

Staff was wonderful and the setting was beautiful. It is on a steep hill so to walk to town and back can be a little grueling in the heat but is only a couple of blocks of incline so it is manageable. You will be ready for the pool. Very reasonable for food and happy hour.

I had a colorful room and view of the bay. The hotel is on a nice street near restaurants and stores. Close to town for an easy walk. Housekeeping gave me an ice chest while I was there so I could keep a beverage and some food on ice. Also every day in my room I had sculptures made with towels and flowers.

Happy hour's a good deal here--two for one margs, etc. Prices are low for food and drink even outside of happy hour. Our room was basic: average size, small bayview balcony, small TV with CNN. Bathroom featured a door that was open at the top--a little weird, but easy for your wife to hand you your cellphone! Typical Mexican "firm" beds-- are they designed for penitent monks? (Please explain to me this Mexican fetish with cement mattresses). Staff not very English proficient, so I ended up speaking Spanish almost exclusively. Easy 10 minute walk into town (downhill) but a bit more arduous on the way back (uphill). Short but extremely steep walk up to the road above the hotel that leads to some nearby fine restaurants (including the one at La Casa Que Canta). But taxis are cheap here; we just hailed them when we were beat . Warning to the elderly or unfit; upper floor rooms involve many stairs and no elevator. Also a long stairway to beach below. We loved Hotel Irma. The rooms have beautiful views and the staff are responsive to all requests. We did, however, travel during Christmas week when there were lots of families. We will return to the hotel, but during a different time of the year without the screaming kids in the pools and in the restaurant.

Excellent choice when in Zhihua. Beautiful, classical Mexican hotel overlooking the bay. Beware the hotel sits at the top of a very steep hill which is doable one step at a time :-) No elevator, so you'll get a great workout with the many steps. Will stay at Irma every time I'm in Zhihua.

Planned to snorkel but some condition at sea caused 2 species of fish to die and wash up on shore. The beaches were cleaned but they kept floating in. A friend recommended Hotel Irma. We will recommend it our friends now! This is a beautiful location / QUIET / close enough to downtown to walk anytime we wish / very good service throughout the hotel / perfect views of Zihau bay. Pool was always clean. Our room A/C was cold cold cold. Huge shelf / storage spaces for our junk. We have (3) in our rooom […] and not crowded. Although we used the restaurant only for breakfast and poolside snacks it was good food and attentive service each time. Beer was icy cold. Try a Paloma. There is no entertainment, which we liked. Town was 10 minutes away to party. But the entire hotel quieted down after 10:00, which sometimes you want. There are steps to the beach / handy in the daytime to get around or walk out for dinner. We tried nearbye dining -- all great! They lock the stair gates after dark for security BUT it contributes to making this place so quiet and SAFE. The ocean view room is worth the upcharge. I recommend that as well. We visited at Thanksgiving. Surprisingly, that is still 3 weeks before the busy season and the hotel was only 50% full. We had the (two pools) almost to ourselves and no hassle to get lounge chairs or service. Great timing! You are on a steep hill. Be prepared for that. We were lazy so we would walk downhill to the downtown, then cab back. The cab fare was a whopping 25 pesos. No problem! We will go back. Especially in the slow season! Pročitajte više
