"Handy location, once you find it"
The hotel was fine, but nothing fancy, the staff were friendly. The map took me to La Villa Palace, which was not the correct hotel, but the receptionist there sent me in a car (free) to the correct hotel. The lane way in which the hotel is hidden looks pretty shabby, but I believe Doha is super safe, so no worries about security. For a cheapish hotel […] in the middle of Doha I recommend La Villa. The location and rooms definitely did not make it feel like we were in the "richest country in the world per capita." I guess you get what you pay for! I decided to stay at the Lavilla hotel based on it being the cheapest result in the search results. For the price, you cannot do better! Overall, I was very satisfied, the room was clean, service was very helpful, and it has a great location for sightseeing. Yes, the free breakfast is awkward at best, and this certainly is not a luxury hotel. The immediate […] neighborhood looks dodgy, but the touristy section of Doha starts less than a half block away, the souqs, museum, and corniche are a leisurely walk from here. "OK budget hotel, but not for the timid"
I spent a night at another property from this chain, LaVilla Inn & Suites, before I came here, and though it was technically a "step down", the opposite is true. This is the best of their 3. My room is nice-looking, the staff were very friendly at the front desk, and they easily accommodated my need to leave my bag there early in the morning, pre-check-in. […] But when I arrived that night, my bathroom had no toilet paper or towels; when I called about it, I was given a roll of TP and a hand towel. When I said, I want a bath towel, I was promised one in the morning, which never came. My second night, I still had no towel. The breakfast buffet, meanwhile, is strange but not necessarily awful. Offerings included hummus and sliced cucumber, olives, hard-boiled eggs, rice, beans, some kind of vegetable mix, two kinds of low-end cereal with milk, juices, and make-it-yourself instant Nescafe for coffee. Lastly, on the location: it's within walking distance of the Souq Wasif, which is great, but its immediate surroundings are dusty little side-streets with auto repair shops and furniture upholstery shops. The hotel itself doesn't stand out too much in any particular aspect, but it's a decent place to stay and good value. The rooms are pretty comfortable and clean, the location is good and the service is great. A continental breakfast is included, which isn't spectacular, but is still pretty decent. I submitted to them my hotel reservation confirmation. It took them a long to trace the booking. Initially, they told they have nothing. I and the hotel as well were not sure whether payment has been made earlier as I provided my credit card no. on line. Later they told me is not paid and have to be paid. I said I will pay when I check out but they […] keep reminding me of the payment so I got so fed up that I paid after I came back from my dinner. The hotel from the outside looks fine. The lobby seems to be OK. The neighborhood did not look too good. There were a lot of allies and narrow walk ways. "Not bad - not splendid"
First I thought the hotel was loctaed far from the corniche and sky scrapers but in the evening I realized the location is after all nice since there is a cosy and cool souk (bazaar) nearby. Jeg hadde en overnatting med innsjekk rundt 0100 på natten uten at det skapte noen problemer. Resepsjonistene var veldig bra, standarden var som et 2/3 stjerners hotell. Med andre ord ikke noe sted å vær i en uke, men helt ok for en stopover i Qatar. Bonjours a tous J'ai passée quelque nuit a la villa hôtel a Doha très déçu de l'hôtel L'acceuil au chambre d'hôtel ces très mal passée on es arrive tard le soir a l'hotel le receptioniste nous a fai attendre plus de 1 heure avant de nous donner les clef des chambres car j'ai réservée pour 2 chbre on été 4 adlt Le reception parle mal anglais pour ce […] fair comprendre je vous raconte pas es par déçu Tou on lui dit Qu'on paye en espèce le , on cetai mii d'accord la veille, arrivée le l'endemain ils ont débitée la carte crédit sans demander notre avis. Déplus les chambre petite et non propre les linge non changé on a du fair le rappel plusieur foi c au bou du 3 eme jrs qu'il change les dra Pas de place pour garer Ca voiture le soir des petite ruel autour de lhotel on ce croirez ds un pay du tiers monde je comprend maintenant le tarif le plus pas de Doha donc a déconseiler quitte a payer un peu plus Cher et ce trouver ds un meilleur hôtel...
