Holiday Inn Express Tamworth - Tamworth

I have stayed in Holiday Inn Express hotels many times before, and chose this hotel because of the brilliant service I have received in the past. When we arrived, the first room we were given had not been cleaned since the last guest vacated - same sheets (covering in their hair), half drunk drinks around the room, half thumbed newspapers on the sofa, […] etc. The staff were very friendly and gave us a new room, which was lovely. In the morning the breakfast was terrible - not enough cutlery, therefore many guests got no breakfast because they couldn't get a plate. If you were lucky enough to get a cup/bowl/plate and cutlery, there was hardly any food - no teabags, no toast, no milk. I was left hungry. I will be complaining. Pročitajte više

Fantastic staff and nice hotel

The location of the hotel is great for Drayton Manor and couldn't be closer to the Snow Dome. The Hotel itself is clean and well maintained (although to be expected given its age) throughout and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast included was excellent, with quality food and well stocked right up to finish time. Those points aside, there […] were some issues unfortunately. The room, although large and airy, suffered from an uncomfortable bed and a practically torturous sofa bed (we had a toddler) which was dangerous at best. The heating controls didn't work so we had a couple of warm nights which got uncomfortable (granted we didn't ask for help with this). Tv is great, but when looking to rent a film (to entertain our toddler) we were shocked at the rate! Same goes for eating in the hotel (other than breakfast) which was appallingly priced and not suitable for anyone other than a business person with and expenses claim. Parking is limited. We went after the Easter break so it wasn't too bad but can't imagine trying to park in a peak week. Lastly, because it shares the snow dome car park, you have to pay to get out of the car park every time. Not an issue for a single night we had to leave the car park 4 times during our stay. Very pleased with service and the receptionist are very helpful and kind. Will recommend this hotel. Tha room is so comfy and clean.

A good over night stay, excellent accomodation but breakfast was not up to the usual standard.

Lovely clean hotel next to the Snowdome and 5 mins from Drayton Manor theme park. Great service from the friendly staff and no checking in and out hassle!!! Lovely breakfast , constantly replenishing with freshly cooked food. Croissants ACE!!! Highly Recommended!

My husband and I took our 3 year old to Thomasland and started the weekend with a stay at this hotel. The staff were brilliant! There were so good with my son during the stay, when he cut his finger they gave him a plaster and a pack fo biscuits for being brave! Very good location to town centre, walking distance to town, castle and parks. Same location to snow dome with loads of activities. 1.5miles from Drayton manor which was preposed of stay, great day out for the family. Hotel was very clean Staff were very helpful A complete bargain for the price paid.

We came from London and stayed over on Saturday night as my son had a football match to play for Watford at Aston Villa training ground. Plenty of places to eat in the evening and the all inclusive breakfast was ideal for our early start. Will definitely recommend, and even plan a return as the Snowdome is situated right next door. A very pleasant stay, great location next door to snowdome, short walk to town centre.

We stayed here for 3 nights (2 adults, toddler, and baby) just after Christmas as we were going to visit Thomasland for my sons 3rd birthday. I'd recommend it as it was very good value, friendly, good service, and ideal for our visit. My daughter is 8 and still loves her Thomas Tank Engine toys. We decided to take her to Thomasland for a christmas weekend break on the 10/12/12 We stayed in the Holiday Inn express it was spotless beautiful hotel and very helpful staff. Thaomasland was just less than tenmminutes from the hotel by taxi tamworth Well worth a vist as well. We used Tamworth taxi was fantastic 6 pounds for the three of us taxis were a great novelty for my eight year old. She did have a fantastic weekend. we went to Lapland two years ago the christmas experience in the Snow Dome was just as good and for a fraction of the price. Great value for money and very much an upmarket Holiday Inn Express

Lovely hotel. We got off to a bit of a rocky start as the receptionist did not seem to know what she was doing and was rather uninterested. However we had a lovely room and really enjoyed our stay.

Hotel is conveniently linked for motorway access. I would recommend for business travel. Room was comfortable, with good desk space for working, although internet access is chargeable.

I stayed in this hotel with my 3 year old son. Our twin room was comfortable and clean with a view of the lake.The bathroom was lovely with a very large shower. Breakfast was perfect e.g. cereal, bread, fruit etc. The staff were helpful and friendly. There is a park with a playground across the footbridge which is fantastic for children. The hotel was […] a short walk from the bus and train stations which made it easy to travel into Birmingham for trips to the Sea Life centre and to get to Cadbury World in Bournville. It is a short taxi ride to Drayton Manor and Thomas Land. It is also located directly next to the Snow Dome Leisure Centre. Hotel was convenient for the snowdome and Drayton Manor. Room was great, shower beautiful. The kids slept on the sofa bed but the mattress was very worn and I wouldn't have been happy if they had to sleep on it for more than one night. All in all however, good cheap accomodation with a generour breakfast.

We read some mixed reviews about this hotel, but booked it anyway because of its location (close to Drayton Manor) and price. We stayed three nights (Wed, Thu, Fri). Our room (233) was nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was not bad at all; nice croissants every day, cereals, toast, scrambled egg and either bacon or sausages etc. The only thing I […] would do a next time is ask for a room on the car park side of the building, rather than the road side. The double glazing did block out most of the traffic noise, but not all. Also, deliveries are being dropped off at that side of the building early morning. No way you could sleep with the window open. The room could have done with more storage / wardrobe, but we managed (two adults, one child on the bed sofa), living out of the suitcase. The hotel is a good base to visit Drayton Park and has a great park close by, the children's park is brilliant. Tamworth Castle, the other side of the park, is worth a visit. The Hotel is clean and staff are very friendly. The only issue we had was the food, terrible, don't eat in the hotel. We ordered chicken gougans (not even chicken but gougans you […] get 10 for a £1 that are chopped and shaped meat) for the kids, I believe they were reheated, they looked as if they had double deep fryed. I and my family stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, Tamworth because of its proximity to Drayton Manor Theme Park which we visited. It is also very close to the local shops- very convenient. The hotels location was just ok. There was no ciggerette machine in the hotel and no shop close by, therefore had to get a taxi to the local supermarket. The breakfast wasnt fresh, the apple juice wasnt cold. The dinner menu was grim. We had ordered 2 burgers which werent nice at all. The chicken soup wasnt homemade. Next night we ordered 2 pizzas. […] Couldnt eat them at all, had 2 send them back and asked to take it off our bill. A clean hotel with polite staff. However we found that the complimentary hot breakfast was not fully available as delivery/orders had not been processed. The shower was 'scummy' and the security latch had come away from the main door frame. Although the shift manager tried to fix this it still fell off.
