"Desperately needed respite"
Fantastic, all around. After traveling 12+ hours on our way to Florida for Spring Break, it was a real treat to arrive at the Hampton. "Annoying problem"
Check in was super fast, building was clean and room was very trendy and we felt at home...BUT the bed was not very comfy and pillows were absolutely horrible, the mini fridge made an annoying racket all night, the temp in the room was inconsistent and the hot breakfast was terrible (microwaved bacon, frozen hard as a rock french toast sticks) and my […] fiancé said the omelet wasn't fresh either so we grabbed a pastry and a banana and left. I understand not everything is going to be perfect and you can't make everyone happy but i think this hotel is spending too much attention to the overall look and needed to get back to the basics. "Wonderful place to relax and unwind!"
The staff was very friendly and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The hotel was very nice and clean and the breakfast was great. You could go to the pool, weight room or just hang out in your room if you desired it was that pleasant. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. "Close to the U.S.Space and Rocket Center"
Loved the hotel. Our only complaint was that we had a king size room and it only had a shower instead of a tub. Everything else was top rate. The breakfast was excellent. Coffee and tea always available was an extra perk. The friendliness of the staff was super.The gift shop next store was fun and Clark's Restaurant, one of the 100 places to eat in […] Alabama, was great. One of the best, cleanest, and space effective hotel rooms I've stayed at. The room easily fit my family with the 2 queens and a pullout bed. The modern decor is stylish and comfortable. "Not for comfort"
First let me say, I realize that most people travel for business or outside interest and don't stay in a room except for sleep. My husband and I stayed here in route to home from a vacation in South Mississippi. Since there was nothing in the immediate area, we went to dinner and back to the room. The chairs were mostly for work at desk. There was the […] ususal desk chair and a straight back chair like an office version of a dining chair. All of this made TV watching very uncomfortable and just to be able to relax the back after a long drive, it would have been nice to have had comfortable seating. This is not a hotel for comfort. We stayed at the Hampton Inn - Athens, AL. The hotel was top notch and the town of Athens is a must see. Make sure you check out the local ice cream joint "Kreme Delite" (just W of town square) for a special treat. It will bring back great memories. We stayed in a one room suite that was very large with two queens and a sleeper sofa. Desk, wet bar, microwave, flat-screen and very pleasant modern decor.
