It was almost like buying a car with all the people talking to you tying to convince you its better to buy into their vacation package. It was brutal towards the end and when we told them we were not interested, theu basically showed us the way out, not escorted like the way we arrived. We will still vacation at some of their other resorts, but didn't ant to get locked into the high costs that was offered to us. This resourt is great for a couples vacation. The rooms and amenities are beautiful and the food is AMAZING. We loved the pools and all of the bartenders we encountered were very good. The beach is also beautiful, however, there are many rocks that you will step on while you are swimming in the ocean. Other than that, it was fantastic!

I spent a month planning for this trip and read tons of positive reviews about the Now Jade. I was sadly proven wrong. One of the things that was a huge turn off was how immediately after we checked in, we were handed off to a time share person. I tried politely to tell him we were not interested, but my mom thought because the concierge told us to […] go with him, that it was something related to our check in process. He started asking us for our information and I told him if he was really related to the hotel he could just get it from them, we wanted to eat lunch! He was so rude and we almost got into a very heated confrontation because he would not leave us alone. We finally just walked out of the lobby. It was such a bad way to start the trip, and no one from the hotel staff seemed to care that we were being harassed! The restaurant/dining experience was severely lacking as well. So many reviewers raved about how this food was the best of any all-inclusives...WRONG! The buffet was disappointing- the fruit was tasteless, the selection was poor. The restaurants are the size of shoe boxes, quite surprising considering this resort has over 500 rooms. The no reservation policy means if you arrive between 7-9, you're gauranteed a wait. We were rushed through our dinner- as soon as I put my fork down my plate was whisked away and another plate dropped in front of me. Let me RELAX please! I'm on vacation! The first room we were given had several major leaks. My son walked into the bathroom and thought the toilet had overflowed, there was an inch of water on the floor. Upon inspection, the water was flowing down the bathroom wall. We notified the front desk and they assured us that someone would be up to inspect. An hour went by and no one appeared, so […] we went down to the front desk and reexplained our situation. This time someone showed up, looked at the wall and agreed that it was indeed leaking. That was the last we saw of him. The next morning my husband saw that there was also a leak over our bed. He once again went to the front desk, and this time we were moved to another room. The new room also leaked over the patio door, but we felt that we could deal with this. Additionally, the brochure stated that the mini fridge was stocked with alcoholic beverages of choice; however we discovered the only alcohol available was Model, which is the cheapest beer one can buy in Mexico. On a positive note, the food was excellent and for the most part the staff was friendly. The room was comfortable in size. However, for the money that we paid for this vacation, I was extremely disappointed. We could have stayed at similar quality establishments for much less money. Stayed at this hotel for 7 nights for our honeymoon. We upgraded to the "Preferred" honeymoon suite with a jacuzzi on the deck. We never used it. Hotel was located halfway between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, so it was convenient if you had any trips or activities planned. 5. Hotel staff had outsanding service. 6. Hotel had events and activities planned every night of the week. 7. Great adults only pool on the preferred side. Definitely recommend staying on that side if you don't have kids with you. Bad/annoying: 1. Hotel bed & sheets were old and not great. 2. Air conditioning woke us up every other night with a loud screeching noise (which staff fixed that day). 3. Several power outages duruing our stay, but only at night. 4. Hotel is off the main highway, about a 10 minute drive...kind of long whenever you leave to do something. 5. We traveled 3/5-3/10 with another couple. All of us in late 20s. I was generally pleased with this place, but there were a few drawbacks. Not saying it was great, but it was pretty good, I had low expectations for an AI and I was pleasantly surprised. One drawback to the room - my friend either has scabies or bed bugs (went to dr after returning from trip) from his bed, and I have developed some sort of rash or bedbugs on my back, too. This is not very pleasant and I have read reviews before of people getting the same thing. It is more secluded so it will take time to get to places, we didn't walk anywhere but we went to Xel Ha. The beach was the worst I've been at; it was pretty small and it had a bunch of rocks. The beach was a disappointment, but I'm more of a pool person anyway. The towel game was in full effect while we were there, too, but there isn't anything you can do about that. The preferred pool was nice, esp if you wanted something a little more relaxing/quiet. We really enjoyed our February, 2012 stay at the Jade resort. This is a great resort if you want to relax and if you don't want the nightlife of downtown Cancun! We never had a problem getting a chair by the pool or beach and the staff really encouraged you to get involved in some of the activities (we participated in beach volleyball). We stayed at […] Jade over Valentine's day and they gave all of the women roses at breakfast and each couple got a picture with Cupid. The food was the best I have had at an All Inclusive resort (we liked the Asian & French restaurants). The Indian restaurant and the Mexican restaurant were never open once during our 5 night stay. A couple of things to watch out for - when it rains, the walkways on the property are very slick. We also reserved an Ocean View room with a king size bed and they didn't have any nice Ocean View rooms available upon check in. We did get an ocean view room but it was on the outside of the property. This would have been fine, but the mangrove fields are now a dirt pile, and so the view wasn't what we had hoped for. However, we did end up staying in the room (the manager offered to move us on the second day and followed up on this), but we decided to stay since we liked the privacy our room gave us. Also, the Jade didn't have an outdoor hot tub - this was the biggest disappointment of our stay since we like to sit in the hot tub at sunset. Each room did have a jacuzzi tub, though. We traveled to this resort Jan 5 - 8, 2012. We booked and reserved an Ocean View suite for our stay to attend a friend's wedding. We upgraded and paid a premium for this room, specifically to have the amenities and ocean view described. We we're placed in room 6102 on the preferred side of the resort. Clearly it is an obstructed - completely obstructed […] - view of brush, not the ocean. We were busy with our friend's wedding Friday, and approached your front desk Saturday about our disappointment, and was told all managers we're off until Monday. They also indicated all rooms were full, and they handed me a business card and suggested I email the general manager. I asked that our concern be noted in the file and management be advised Monday of our situation, hopeful we might contacted quickly. Obviously this didn't happen which has promoted and email to the manager as well as a general address for the parent company's customer service center. Further disappointment, no response to our contact and expression of disappointment. At a minimum, we expected a refund of the premium paid for the ocean view room. We would have asked that either the resort trim the brush blocking this view or do not rent this room as ocean view. The poor on-sight customer service response and the complete failure to respond to our attempts to express our disappointment and seek a partial refund leave me with a sour taste for the Now Jade.
