"excellent value and a lovely hotel!"
Used 3 rooms at the hotel for a base while working at Aintree. The rooms were really comfortable and much better than I expected from the budget. The hotel is clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and adequate. Surprisingly quiet being adjacent to the main A road. Small, friendly hotel with good, clean, modern facilities. We were staying to visit family so did not use the restaurant facilities for an evening meal but the reastaurant was very popular and from what we could see, lovely food! My wife and I stayed over for the weekendto visit our family and celebrate a birthday. The hotel was very helpful and friendly especially Sue. This small hotel has a good reputation for food and we agreed completely. The Goosnargh duck was the best I have ever eaten anywhere! Mouth wateringly tender! Our room was airy and nicely contemporary with a lovely bathroom. Although on a main road, there was no traffic noise. There was, however, noise from the room next door - a heavy snorer! We were very impresssed with the friendliness of all the staff who went out of their way to be helpful on every occasion. The food was good and had some local delicacies.
