Absolutely incredibly quiet and so nice. The staff were fantastic. The pool was clean. The food was top notch. The free shuttle was every two hours into the main island. The deserted beaches in Rebak were so nice. Will go back next year for sure. The reception staff were also very helpful.

This hotel is not in Langkawi!!! It's on a separate island and you're dependant on a shuttle boat to get to langkawi where all the activities and half-way decent food options are. The ferry only runs every 1.5-2 hours so most of the time you find yourself stranded with no real activities or food options. And it stops running at 7.45pm! So unless you […] eat dinner at 6pm while you're on vacation, you'll be forced to eat at the hotel - horrible! For a Taj hotel this is really a disgrace. No upgrades since 1970 (other than the flat screen tvs). The staff and service are horrendous - the concierge/activity guide in particular. Excellent stay facilities and very cordial staff. Only con is that probably it is on an island and to commute you might have to wait for the jetty which is after every 1:30 hours. Rest all facilities are excellent.

The resort is on an island of its own, having its own private beach. There are lots of fun activities that one can be engrossed in like Cycling, Trekking, Art classes, Swimming, Kayaking, Beach volley and Tennis.

The hotel was located in a very beautifull enviroment. I really enjoyed my stay there and it was most relaxing. The staff were very friendly from managment to housekeeping each and everyone was friendly and helpfull. We will defiinately go there again if we plan to go to the far east again.

Loved it but after being on some late flights to get there and with the time difference, the family upstairs made way too much noise for us to be able to sleep well. Would have been good to have fly screens on the doors so that we could have doors and curtains open sometimes as we didn't always need air conditioning on and we could then have enjoyed our sea view more. However our stay was fantastic and we had a great time.

The property is a private island close to the Langkawi airport. It has activities like free kayak, bicycle rides, live wildlife feeding sessions and boasts of spacious rooms having sea view. Overall its a great experience for families and couples alike.

Access to the main island is easy with the free ferry running back and forth during the day and the latest at 8:45pm is late enough to enjoy some night shopping. This was a ladies trip however we booked 2twin beds which is really a california king...we also had a sea view room and had to be changed upon arrival. Our package included 25% off spa treatments and 15% off restaurant which was very nice except for we weren't informed that the spa treatments must be booked from 12-2pm. The level of service and location are amazing. We had an incredibly relaxing week with the sea 30 metres walk from the villa. Our two-bedroom room was lovely and we enjoyed our stay at the resort but a few significant faults make it fall short of a 5, or even a 4-star resort. You can hear everything going on in the room upstairs. In our case it was a family with a baby that cried throughout the night. We ask if something could be done but apparently there were no rooms available […] (the resort wasn't full but perhaps they didn't want to downgrade our room...) and they only offered to talk with the people upstairs. We asked them not to, how could they control when their baby cries and that would have only ruined their holiday. Furthermore the resort is on an island and thus they're happily over-charging for everything. A can of coke will set you back ten times (!!) more than on the main island. They advertised for various activities which turned out to be a bit of a dud. The cooking lesson was a 5-minute demonstration of how to mix the ingredients for a muffin (perhaps some malaysian food would have been in order) and the daily lizzard feeding never happened despite people gathered around to watch it. The electricity is wired a bit weirdly in the rooms, in order to turn off the bedside lamp a light needs to be on the living room and in the hallway and on the other side of the bed. Took us a while to figure out how it all worked out. Our overall impression was that the resort does offer a wow-factor on arrival but as you stay longer, you start noticing things. There is a slight derelict feeling to the resort as there are several empty building scattered around. However, the service was always excellent and the pool area was fantastic. We went to Rebak island for our 1st anniversary and it was a memorable experience. We travelled from Penang to Langkawi by ferry. Unfortunately Taj provides pick and drop service only from the Airport. And the Penang – Langkawi jetty is quite a distance from the Rebak jetty. Anyway, we managed to reach the Rebak Marina jetty and instantly it cooled […] down our spirits. It’s got a lovely view and good arrangement for the guests to wait for the ferry. There is free Wi-Fi, board games and magazines too. Upon reaching the island, the hotel staff was kind enough to buggy us to the reception and our Guest Relations Executive, Ravindra was ready with all the details. He was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. He helps us understand all the activities that were available in the resort. Our room was exquisite. it had a partial view of the sea which was great. Completely done up in wood. It had all the amenities that one would need. Taj was sweet enough to give us a small cake with Happy Honeymoon written on it. It was a nice touch. The reception staff helped us decide on which sights to see and how we can make it economical. Being a hotel, they could suggest their in-house tours and make the profits, but they didn’t. We booked a cab for a day to sight-see around Langkawi – Cable car, Mangroves, Waterfalls etc.. and the 2nd day for island hopping which was amazing. The hotel is located on a private island is offers ferry service to the main island every 45 mins. But there is plenty that you can do in the resort itself. Tennis, games, movies, books, gym, swimming pool, cycling, nature walk etc.. just to name a few. Abhishek was another staff member who was kind enough to teach tennis to us during his off hours. On our anniversary day, the hotel decorated our room with flowers and provided us another cake. it was a very sweet gesture. I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights in a deluxe room. The 1st impressions from outside was great. But once we got in the room, it was too dark even with all the lights on. If you turn off the master switch, all plugs will turn off and you can't use battery chargers or any other appliance.

The room was full of mosquitoes at night. Could not get a single night of good sleep because the mosquitoes were buzzing near my ear. Woke up on several occasions with bites on my arms and face. What a wonderful location, service, atmosphere and food! What a pity that the owners (not Taj) do not bring (at least) the appearance of the property to the same standard (easily increasing their turnover in the process)! Hotel grounds and pool are beautiful but what makes this the perfect place for a holiday was the staff and managment. Nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant is lovely and we didn't leave the resort as quality of the food and service made it too hard to leave. Highly recommend for couples and families.

My husband and two year old boy and I recently spent five nights at rebak island as part of a trip in Malaysia. The staff here were outstanding in their friendliness and desire to please. There is a great atmosphere at the resort, our sea view room was huge with a lounge area separate to the enormous bed and two separate dressing and bathroom areas. […] Plenty of room for us and a big balcony overlooking the beach as well. We loved the breakfast, especially the many fresh juices and smoothies available and ate often through room service or at the cafe and enjoyed all our meals. The pool was well maintained and beautifully positioned and our two year old was in heaven going between pool and beach. Staff provided him with plenty of beach toys too. The resort is over due for renovations if it is to be classed as a 5 star resort, we enjoyed the stay the food was exselent as was the service but 4 nights was anought as there is not a lot to do apart from the pool. Transfer from the Island was ok but lacking in saftety gear. A good place if you enjoy being away from the night life.
