I stayed at the hotel for business. I took the train into Chicago, so convenience to Union Station was great. Had decent, but not great restaurant selection within a block or two. I don't know how this hotel had a four star guest rating. It's appears to be a set of small efficiency apartments that are sold as hotel rooms when not rented. I'm not sure what the "club" part of it is, as the hotel had two different names. The room was about 90 degrees when I arrived in early spring (cold outside) with no way to cool it down. If you're looking for a box to sleep in and can get it for a lot less than I was paying, then it might be worth it, but the rate I had for the nights I was there was almost as much as I would have paid at a much nicer hotel down the street. We were VERY impressed with everything about this hotel. Amidst bustling downtown, it was a haven with an impeccable staff, cleanliness, and quietness (yes! quiet in downtown Chicago! "Very teeny tiny but good location"
I stayed in a "small room", which seriously is the size of a dorm room at best. However, the purpose of the room was to have a place to sleep and shower, and it definitely served that purpose. It was clean and comfortable. You can hear people entering their rooms and the doors closing, which was a little weird. The only think I thought was a little off-putting was that each room did not have an iron; you have to retrieve an iron and ironing board from a closet on your floor and drag it down the hall yourself. Great stay here, we were able to access the "L" train only 2 blocks away and go anywhere in the city we wanted. Only a couple blocks from WIllis Tower and shopping areas. First room booked came with 2 twin beds rather than 1 queen. Wife and I needed to get that changed and the hotel staff did so immediately.
