ANCHORAGE MOTEL - Bar Harbor

Not only was it nothing like anyone had stated the guy who checked us in was short and rude. I could hear the upper floor above them and asked for a 2nd floor room. Not available. Couldn't sleep. The room smelled. Worst hotel I've stayed at from hotels.com

Nice, clean, conventional motel room. Easy to drive to, easy to walk from. We wanted some place to stay, close enough to Jordan's restaurant for breakfast and to Geddy's pub for dinner. This fit the bill perfectly.

The Anchorage was exactly as described. The accomodations are very good, extremely clean, excellent rates. Highly recommend, two blocks to Main St - very convenient without all the noise and traffic.

The hotel was in a great location. We could walk to downtown in five minutes. Although it was not fancy,it was clean . The staff was friendly and helpful. It was just right for a one night stay.

Within walking distance from the downtown. Unfortunately no breakfast but 2 nice breakfast resturants nearby. Nice grass area with chairs away from the road for relaxing.

The telephones did not work within the buildings. Wy-Fi was not available. The office closes at night. Although the buildings were clean they have not been updated in many years. If all you want is a place to sleep with out any atmosphere it's OK

The hotel was very outdated with dark paneling, old carpets, etc. But the location was great. It was a three block walk to the main street in Bar Harbor. It was one of the cheaper rates and too be honest they had some nicer hotels which were a lot more money but were also further away from the main strip. For the price we paid, we were disappointed with our stay. The furnishing were old and the beds uncomfortable. Happy it was only for one night. The only positive was location. It was very close to downtown Bar Harbor and we were able to walk to all attractions. I would choose a different motel next time.

Okay hotel, close to shops restaurants transportation and activities. Rooms are dated and lower floor room you can hear whenever someone walks around in the upper floor room.

This hotel was not the best place that I stayed during my NE coast trip, but it was a convenient location. There were not enough towels in the bathroom for all of us. The accommodations were not poor, just not the best.

It's a basic room and shower. All you need if because you are right in the heart of Bar Harbor. No need to use your car and free shuttles everywhere else.Less than half the price of any other comparable room with the same location.

Second time there, my family wanted to go back. Great location, great staff, nice rooms very simple. Easy stroll to downtown and busses for Acadia, maybe five minutes if you walk real slow.

Very nice. The room was clean and the AC worked, and it was pretty quiet. We were able to walk to the downtown for restaurants and it was only a short drive to Acadia National Park. The Management was very nice and responsive to any request we made.

Room was clean and physically comfortable but smelled of off-gas and/or cleaning products, and lacked a fridge. Receptionist forgot to tell me they'd serve coffee in the morning, so I didn't find out til I came back from buying it.

This was an excellent place today provided that you don't plan to spend much time in the room. Unfortunately, that was our plan and it rained constantly, thus minimizing our time in the park and maximizing our time in the room. Since, as with most motels, your picture window faces the parking lot, if you get stuck in the room you will find yourself […] with drapes closed to maintain privacy and sitting in a a very enclosed space. Nothing fancy about this place, but location to downtown and price were perfect for us. We don't go on vacation to spend time in a hotel. We use a hotel to have a place to sleep. We'd go back to the Anchorage again.

5 min walk to downtown, property surrounded by up-market buildings. no in-room coffee or refrigerator or hairdryer. Had to walk to office to get WIFI access password as they would not pick up phone. Very musty smell from drawers. Soda machine a bargain at $1.00 No toiletries unless requested. PRICE COMPETITIVE FOR LOCATION

Very nice staff. Clean though older room. A type of place that doesn't need to keep up appearences due to high volume of tourists and yet they do and you can tell they care about the customer. We were fully satisfied.

The decor is a bit dated, but aside from that, the place was great. Could not ask for a beter location. Just a block and a half from the center of everything that Bar Harbor has to offer. Other places in the area are fancier, but why spend all of that extra money if you don't have to.

Clean room. Courteous staff. Walking distance to attractions in town. Price is apparently kept reasonable by forgoing luxurions appointments. However, room was quite serviceable. Sound insulation lacking.

Convenient, clean and affordable accommodation for those who wish to enjoy both the Acadia park and Bar Harbor. Very recommended, unless you need marble floors and gold plated sinks.

The staff were not very friendly. There were electrical outlets that didn't work. Half the light bulbs were blown in the lamps. The sheets didn't smell great. This would not be my recommendation.

The only thing I really liked about this hotel is its location. It is within minutes of the restaurants and shops, and also very close to a supermarket. The room was OK, but smelly. They charge an $8.50 booking fee per booking, which is not evident from the hotels.com site.
