After experience a poorly run hotel we checked into the negril palms it was excellent, spacious clean the only complaint I had was there was not hot water around 3am when I got back from aclub and wanted a shower I had to shower in cold water aside from it was a enjoyable stay and would recommend it?

Negril palms was wonderful, we had booked another hotel but had problem after problem at that place so decide to find somewhere else and fell upon negril palms and boy were we lucky. The rooms were spacious, clean and in good working order, not to mention the bed was enormous couldn't have been just a king size. The decor was nice too. First of all, I am a not a demanding traveler and have stayed all over Negril, which I love!. Negril Palms has a nice look, nice staff and excellent chef. The rooms are small, the first one we were showed had a terrible odor. We were given another rm. There was No HOT water all week long!! The service and staff were very helpful; always there with a joke and smile when we needed anything. The location was spot on. The only thing was there were no coffee cups and kettle in the room, which we felt would have been nice you are staying for a few days. I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Palms in Negril. Adorable open air room, great maid service, good restaurant/bar. Every morning we had breakfast on the pool deck over looking the ocean. They had lounge chairs and umbrellas set up on the beach for guest use. The front desk provides beach towels daily. The area of the beach was excellent. Close to […] many food options. The staff and location of the hotel were great. The bathroom floor and shower is wood, which some guested were not please with. we arrived there at 4:30pm and the room was not ready. Their staff did not know what they were doing. They checked us in and gave us the key to our rooms. When we got to the rooms they were just cleaning it. Great location and great food! The rooms are nice, at least the renovated rooms but our whole trip we had problems with the water in our room. We either had no water at all or just cold water. If you are looking for something that is bare bones right on the beach this is the place for you. Our room was decent but lacked water pressure and hot water. I believe once their renovations are completed this hotel will be great.

First for any new travelers, the sign outside is labeled "Palms Negril". This was very confusing when driving by because there are a lot of places that have "Palms" in its name. During my 6 day stay, the staff was very friendly. One complaint that I do have is that my room was only serviced 3 times during my stay. The hotel was doing some remodeling […] and construction that started at 6am! The walls and doors are paper thin so you hear everything! Also they turned off the water one day in the morning.....without warning. The Pros: friendly staff, great location, on the beach, onsite restaurant & bar. The Cons: construction/remodeling, somewhat hard to locate, if eating at the restaurant be prepared to wait 30min+ for anything you order to arrive. I ate there atleast 6 times during my stay and all of the times I was waiting endlessly.....and there were maybe 1 or 2 people at the restaurant. ----- Other than all of the above, overall was a good stay. Although the rooms were lacking in drawers to put your things off the floor, the rooms were ok. The premium rooms which cost more also had more amenities. The staff was helpful, friendly and accommodating. If there was a problem, it was taken care of quickly. The bathrooms needed some minor repairs as the drains backed up and the taps ran slowly from […] minerals blocking the screens. Also a closet door was falling off. But cleaning the screens and borrowing a screwdriver and a screw we were able to repair the closet and the water ran fine. All was good after that. So maintenance was the biggest problem. I have stayed in much worse and paid much more. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, the food was good and the beach was awesome. And the folks that run the gift shop were very nice too. This is a smaller size resort/hotel/whatever you want to call it. We stayed on the side with the wooden windows...other side has glass windows...even though there are spaces between the wooden windows somehow the rooms stay super cool...not sure how that works. Anyway, the location is perfect; right on 7 Mile Beach as they call it...couldn't ask for […] a better mix of room price, location and relaxation. There are plenty of activities on the beach, sailing, Para-sailing, Jet Ski, glass boat, snorkeling or just doing nothing…soaking in the sun reading a book or whatever you’re sounds good to you. There are plenty of places to eat (jerk chicken at the place round the corner from Rock House is amazing) and drink along the beach, plenty of crafts stores and plenty of clear blue water and good people. I really enjoyed my stay at The Palms Resort. The hotel is located on the beach and great service from all the staff. We did not use the pool but the area around the pool was very relaxing and calm. The area in front of the beach is kind of small but it works. Beware of the locals they can be a little annoying at times. Great location on Seven Mile Beach to amenities and water sports. The hotel is indeed bank owned at the moment,but there is much cosmetic work and repairs being done. The hotel staff could not have been more plesant and helpful. If you retire to bed before midnight, bring your earplugs as there is always music playing at the neighboring restaurants […] and bars. There are indeed many natives selling items on the beach. But dont be too quick to dismiss them. The fresh juices, fruits, and meat pies are fantastic. Bargain your price and you will not be dissapointed. If you explain that you do not partake in their main agricultural commodity, they may not understand your life choice, but they respect it. This hotel wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. I was expecting a lot more based on the positive reviews. I think those who liked the hotel (more like motel if you ask me) were looking for something cheap & easy. First of all, we had to ask several people for directions. There's absolutely no sign at the entrance so we drove past it at least […] three times before realizing the two tiny wooden palm tree cutouts at the front marked our destination. Location was OK as it was right on the beach. It's within walking distance of several local bars that are also on the beach and only a short ride to downtown. There are also several local eateries within steps that serve authentic Jamaican food. Not all of them good though. I had the "pleasure" of staying in two different rooms. At first glance the first room seemed really nice because it had newer bath fixtures. However, upon further inspection, I noticed that they were dirty, grimy & not well maintained. There was also absolutely no water pressure in the shower. My two beds were mismatched, with one sitting higher than the other. Also, one of my lights didn't work. The room had cool looking plantation shutters throughout but there was no sound abatement at all. The guests located two rooms down from me were so loud I had to move. The staff gets points for accommodating this request but it was really a no-brainer since even the front desk clerk stated to me that she could hear them as well. Unfortunately for me I was relocated to the room right behind the check-in desk, which wasn't an improvement. I heard all the comings and goings of every person who walked into the check-in area, as well as phones ringing, staff chatting, etc. The second room had very old fixtures and a sink, shower & tub from the 80s or 90s. And again, no water pressure & the fixtures were grimy. I attempted breakfast at the "restaurant" but they didn't even have what I wanted so that was a bust. The Palms has the greatest location however there are just NO beach . All space is used for their restaurant. We had a Deluxe Renovated Rooms and it was comfy, unless you are looking for the HILTON comfort you will be pleased. Yes the pool need to repainted but did'nt bother us. This hotel does not match what is advertised on Expedia. In our first room, we had ants and no dresser or shelves for clothes. There was a large closet with 4 hangers, but it was dirty and did not provide any place for folded clothes. The sheets were not changed and our bed did not have a fitted sheet, but rather a regular bed sheet that was tucked […] in (and came untucked at night.) After complaints about the ants and lack of anywhere to put our clothes, we were moved to a much larger room that had shelving for our clothes. Our room still had bugs. The towels were changed each day, but they were grey, dingy, and smelled like a wet dog. The beach is severely eroded and the beach chairs are hard and uncomfortable. We spent most of our day time at another beach resort. The pool wasn't clean and had a lot of sand in it. landscaping was beautiful but I knew this was a dump when I entered the lobby. this is a no-frills hotel for someone who just needs a roof over their head. Things could have been better when we arrived. Wrong room. We moved everything to new room ourselves including refrigerator when finally got in our ground level room. Took a day and a half to get in the right room. No water pressure, air didn't work for two days. It took 3 days to get on the beach because we were told to wait in our room for changes […] and repairs to be made. When we got tired of waiting and reporting problems ,we left the room for an afternoon walk . When we returned we were told our room had been ready since morning. I had inquired earlier. Then we moved. No one told us it had been ready. Then the new room had the air problem and both had water pressure problems. Toilet wouldn't flush for a day. After I reached the right maintenance men, things began getting repaired. Things would have been great without the problems. Food was great. Location was good. Everyone was very nice. It just took 3 of our vacation days waiting in our room as we were told to do. I so wish it had been ready for us. It was a nice place. I would go back if I felt confident that we wouldn't run into these problems again. The office didn't mind telling us to wait on someone to come to our room. I was not happy doing this and it was extrememely stressful. A vacation should be relaxation from the time you arrive. I really hate that these things happened. All the staff couln't have been nicer. Reporting problems to mulitple people finally got action. I was so looking forward to staying there. Missed the umbrellas on the beach as seen in pictures. I hope things were getting in top shape. A lot of maintenance was going on when we checked out. So don't count this out. Remember there are no phones in the rooms and you have to rent refrigerators and locks for safes. DO NOT STAY HERE. This "resort" is absolutely the worst maintained facility I've ever stayed at. Now usually, I read reviews and hear people complain about things such as noise, my bed wasn't fluffy enough or trivial things of that nature. That is NOT the case here. This place is nothing short of disgusting. I had to marvel at the audacity of ownership […] calling this place a resort. The walls are spackled over but unpainted and look as if at some point there was some liquid damage throughout most of the rooms but they never got around to fixing it. Cleaning Maids are non-existant as we stayed there for 4 nights and had our room "cleaned" twice. The surfaces are never wiped short of them mopping the floor. The Sink, toilet, mirror and counter top were all infested with Ants and full of build-up and stains. The bedsheets were not changed once throughout our entire stay and the towels were only changed because we tracked down one of the maids and asked her to change them. All of the sheets/towels were a dingy off white gray but obviously at one point were white. The bar is called Mojito's which is funny because they didn't have Mint once. It is the only bar devoid of energy and music and could not make Mojitos despite their name. Enjoying the pool alone were the bugs as it had a hose feeding it water and was out of service the whole time. This hotel is bankrupt and currently in receivership. That explains the condition.
