We had to sleep in our clothes because everything was sticky and smelled musty.

Older hotel but unit had stove, frig & micro-wave. Towels, linens were plentiful. Biggest plus one block to the beach.
"I enjoyed the location"
This Motel is less than one block from the ocean. The pool was heated and my girls really enjoyed this. Luckyly I was able to upgrade to a larger room. I always bring my own sheets and blankets so was very comfortable.
"Disappointing"
Hotel personnel were accommadating and friendly. Pool was clean and maintined. However the hotel was old and outdated. The rug was old and felt like it hasn't been cleaned in quite some time. My back is still hurting from the mattress and pillows. Location was great but unfortunately I would not return to this hotel.
Hotel is worn down, but good enough for a few days. Very convenient to beach. good shower. Nice restaurant on premises.

We've been coming to Wildwood for over 18 years and stayed at various hotels. Sand Castle is decent. The only downside were the rusty faucets and we had to keep the window in the bathroom opened for ventilation. We had a car so traveling wasn't an issue. This is a no frills motel. Very clean, maintenance is fair. Too basic cable TV service. The parking is for sub compact cars not for today's mini van or SUV. I had to park my small SUV off the property because I could not open my doors in the provided spot.. We liked the small, old motel feel, and it was very quiet and close to the beach. The only thing we didn't like was the smell in the room - that pine air-freshener smell. Also the rug felt damp.

good location, but in need of upgrading bathroom fixures and the airconditioning is extremely noisy and installed above the head of the bed. Impossible to get any sleep. Staff was friendly enough. Rooms reseanably clean. Location good. Restaurant ok. Rooms kind of small.

I booked this motel on a whim because we all decided to go down the last minute and everything else was booked. The staff was lovely... very nice and accomodating. HOWEVER, I found this hotel to be old, run down, tired and in need of remodeling. My teen age daughters were a little "grossed out" . Motel staff were very helpful, just a note its not an inconvenience but just a heads up, if you arrive after 9 p.m. you just have to call the motel first and pick up your room key a block away at their sister motel. "Good location"
one block from beach and close to a good pancake restaurant and bike rentals. Had no issue with noise or hearing other people - it was quiet at night. Parking is tight but do-able. Only "noise" was from a fairly loud air conditioner that is only 1 foot from the bed and blows on you (you can direct the vents up or down but it's still noisy). "what we expected"
It was OK we only stayed one night, it was fine as hotels down the shore go this was OK. New toilet but shower and basin need to be replaced.
The only true gripe from my husband was the shower pressure, and one morning no hot water. I always had plenty of hot water, but it was more like a mist than a stream of water from the shower. At home we have no flow restrictors, so maybe that makes it all more of a shock for us. "A fine no-frills place in Wildwood Crest"
It's an old place, but pretty well-maintained. I was pleasantly surprised to find a dorm-size fridge in the room. Parking is very tight, and the A/C blasted right into the person sleeping on the bed next to it, but it's a nice enough no-frills place only one block from the beach.

Breakfast not included, just one key for four of us and nothing on the bedroom but a TV and a old microwave.
The room was clean, and the only complaint if you could call it that was that you could tell they had not renovated in awhile. There was no newness to the room. It was a nice stay!

It was okay for a one-nighter, but I wouldn't stay there again. The room was clean, which was one plus, but they let anyone stay here. There were a gang of youngsters (either college or high school aged) there making a lot of noise and drinking beer in bottles in common areas, which did not sit well with me considering I have a 3yo daughter. "Good deal"
Stayed Saturday night (no 2 or 3 day min) Staff very friendly and helpful. For overnight place to sleep/shower only 1/2 block from beach the price was great as last minute plan. Motel older but kept and clean as can be expected.

The hotel is old, however it was clean and well maintained. The personnel was very accomodating. The prices were reasonable and the hotel was only one block in from the beach. The pool was clean and well maintained. We ate breakfast and dinner at their restaurant which was very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I read other people's reviews of the hotel before going there so I expected it to be kind of dumpy. Well, it was actually a cute little place, at least outside. Because it's by the ocean, the room was muggy and the carpet felt damp. Me and my boyfriend wore flip flops inside. The bathroom was adorable but I'm not sure how clean it was... This place is literally across the street from the beach, and because it is in a dry town it is very quiet at night, which is awesome. We went for Memorial Day weekend and did not have to deal with party people at all hours of the night. Some previous reviewers stated that there are plenty of other hotels around and that there must be better places. This was not our experience. All of the hotels in the area seemed to be similar to ours, and many of them looked dumpy or cheesy. This hotel was well maintained, and the quality of the room reflected the price you pay for it. "Okay, but expected better"
Arrived at 10 p.m. and found lobby locked and instructions to go down the street to a sister hotel to pick up key. Parking at the hotel was very tight. Room had only one lamp, and it was on the dresser. I moved it myself to the bedstand so I could read. Only two electrical outlets in the entire room, and not one by the desk, so I couldn't use my laptop […] there. Room was a bit cramped, would have been impossible with more than one person. All that said, it was not uncomfortable, but a bit pricey for an off-season beach hotel. Manager was very friendly when I met him the next day. The pool was nice, the BBQ grills provided were a nice touch, the rooms were clean and large with a nice full service kitchen. Room service did an excellent job, and there was nice amount of parking. I would definitely go back.

Room clean and neat, staff friendly and helpful. Nephew showed up unexpectedly - asked for a cot or roll away - was told no more than 4 in room because of fire hazard, he would have been the 5th.
