this was a last-minute lodging need. the place is decent. had trouble with the tv/cable image. had to call front desk. turned out the cable connection was loose becasue it didn't have a proper prong/connector...crazy! Overall, however, the place met my needs for an overnight stay.

inexpensive, comfortable, has everything you need, friendly staff. my boyfriend was feeling sick that evening and the hotel staff gave us free food for him to eat including fresh fruit that really helped. so nice! If you are looking for an inexpensive stay, this hotel offered the cheapest rates I could find. However, it was obvious they did not have the resources to keep it up as well as your typical motel. It was clean enough that I did not feel grossed out, but it did not have that deep clean look, smell or feel. For example there was pizza sauce on the take […] out menus, dust bunnies above the shower stall rim, dirt on carpet in some corners where vacuum does not easily reach and so forth. The internet did not reach my room well enough to use consistently. When I signed up for the stay the description listed free breakfast. I went in for breakfast one day and they only had coffee, one type of muffin and apples. There was no juice, milk, or water. A sign said you could ask for water, but they wanted to sell that to me. When I arrived I was a little concerned for my safety as it was after dark and they had the office locked up. You had to talk to the staff through a security window and slide your paperwork through a half inch gap under the window. I stayed for a week during a conference I was attending in San Diego and grew to feel comfortable with the area. They did straighten up the room each day and provide fresh towels. All in all it was not a bad experience. It is what it is, a cheap motel that does not have the resources to keep things looking like new or provide a full breakfast. I gave the place a 2 because I feel unless I'd rather stay in an alley, I should at least be kind enough to rate it higher. In any case, I wouldn't say it was dreadful but it certainly is a "you get what you pay for" type of place. Having said that it served its purpose. I got in, slept and I was out. Would I stay again? Well, I was told my the clerk that they were in the middle of a shift change so I'd have to wait about 15 min. to check in! What a joke! Normally I'd blow a lid but I was tired and just wanted to rest. I didn't give service a 1 only because at least they were somewhat nice about it and the lady the next morning at check out was pleasant. Regardless the place needs better customer management and though I'm sure late night check ins are not too common, to have to wait 15 min to check in to a room you paid for is ridiculous. The bathtub was clogged and considering the only front desk person had a long line checking in I was handed a plunge to unclog my own shower. After that it turned out the sink was clogged too. This was not a good hotel and I will not return ever. I asked at the front desk for extra pillows and I was told maybe tomorrow when the maids come - as in, the front desk person didn't move an inch out of her seat to see if she could grant that request. When we arrived we were welcomed with a very friendly hotel staff and positive atmosphere! I would indeed give the hotel, the stay a 5, 5 being the highest rate on a scale from 1 to 5.

the telephone jack did not work, even when I connected my own phone that I travel with. The knob on the tub and shower literally fell off (!) when I went to turn on the shower. A decrepit and very poorly kept hotel. Sleep in your own vehicle before staying at this knightmare of a hotel!

A very good experience. The room was everything I hoped for; clean room, working shower, tv with remote and many channels, clean linens, nice bed and pillows. I am not an employee. I arrived around 9:15 PM so the line to check in took about 30 minutes. I took into consideration it was not the fault of the only worker at the front desk at that time. It takes time when you are all by yourself working and the lady was very friendly once I got to her! Now on to the room, it really needed to be updated. For the most part it was clean, […] except for the bathroom tub. It had mold growing on it and it just needed to be repaired or replaced all together. The walls are VERY thin so I heard every conversation since I stayed right next to the pool. The area itself has very little to offer, but I was there to sleep so it was not much of a problem for me. It was a decent hotel for the price. We wanted a hotel close to the Coronado Island & the Mexican border. The only con I would have to give is that their "continental breakfast" is a little disappointing. All they give are muffins the size of my pinky, apples, and coffee (which makes no sense because the rooms are supplied with coffee makers).

I stayed in this hotel because it was the cheapest one I could find that is nearest to the San Diego Convention Center for Comic-Con and it wasn't that bad. Here are my pros and cons for this hotel for anyone that wants to stay in this hotel for future Comic-Con events... Pros: you'll pay between 1/2 and 2/3 less than what you would in any other hotel […] that are near the Convention Center. The trolley station is only 15 minutes away in walking distance. There is a Denny's right around the corner (5 minute or less walk). Cons: it will take you around an hour to get to the Convention Center if you take the trolley (or 30 minutes by car). The pillows in the hotel room were extremely soft (I even stacked both pillows together) and I woke up with back pain. There is no refrigerator/iron in the room (you can pay an additional $10 with a credit card to get upgraded to a room that has these items; but, shouldn't every hotel room already have these items already?).
